Mason's POV
-------------------------------
I kiss the top of Carrie's head after she thanks me and a voice of an asshole interrupts our moment. "Aww look at the two of you. I'd say you're paying him Mellows but then again you don't have much money, do you? Well you did but when your daddy died so did the money."

I look up to see a smirking Jason and I glare at him. I feel tears soaking my shirt and I glance down worried. "Carrie go inside. I'll follow in a few minutes, ok?" I tell her, concerned and she nods before walking towards the front door.

"Ah a coward just as I remember. This is not the end of this Mellows and you know it," he calls out and I growl.

"You will leave her alone or I'll have you thrown back into the hell hole!" I state, not in the mood for his bullshit.

"Is that a threat?" he asks.

"Nope it's a promise," I chuckle.

"Your promises, as you call them, don't have any effect on me. I'll continue with my bullying and you'll piss of and stay away from that bitch," he threatens and I stop chuckling.

"Or what?" I ask.

"I'll make this even worse. I'll start spreading rumours then move to pranks and it'll get so bad one day she just won't walk out that door for you to pick her up ever again," he says, his eyes not showing any hints of lying or exaggerating.

"You start doing that. Then we're going to have a problem," I growl.

"We already do," he laughs.

"You're right. We do," I smirk and punch him on the nose. I hear a sickening crack then blood starts gushing.

"You little shit!" he screams.

"Yeah and by the way you got yourself on private property and I'm certain that the owner would hate to see their daughter's bully on their front lawn," I sneer and walk to the front door. I turn around and see him still standing there. "You might wanna leave unless you want the cops on your ass."

I knock on the door and Carrie's mum opens it. "Please come in Mason," she says and I nod.

"Good morning Mrs Mellows," I greet, smiling slightly.

"Oh call me Karen," she smiles but I can see it doesn't reach her eyes.

"Well then good morning Karen. You don't mind me staying with Carrie today, do you?" I ask, slightly shy. For the first time in ages, I'm shy.

"No I don't mind at all. I have to head to work now sadly. Um Carrie's room is up the stairs and the last door on the left. I guess I'll see you when I get home," she answers and I nod. I follow her directions and enter Carrie's bedroom.

I see her curled into a ball and walk over to the bed. I sit on it and lean my back against the headboard. I pull her into my arms and whisper, "I got you." She falls asleep almost instantly and I rub circles on her hip.

Her shirt rides up a little, not too much but enough for me to catch a glimpse of scars. The small glimpse is enough to make a tear fall from my eye and I shut my eyes, resting my head on the headboard. I slip into sleep and my last thought is that I want her to tell me everything.

There is an extremely sad past to the girl I've only known for a week but I feel like I have to protect from everything.

I'm sorry that I haven't written!
I've just been a bit busy.
So to make up for not writing I have made this chapter heaps longer!
I hope you like!
It's sort of a filler because if I just jump into the plot line I have planned out, it doesn't make much of a story and I hate when stories are written like that so I'm not gonna do it myself.
Enjoy!
Oh and please vote and comment.
I don't want hard work and effort to go to waste.
Also can you pretty please share this story on whatever social networking sites you use.
Thank you! xx
