It was a borring Monday. (Y/N) was sitting on the couch with a math book in her hands. The only problem was: she hated math but the school was about to start and if she went without her homework done her teacher was going to kill her .

Her mother was chopping some vegetables in the open kitchen white humming a song from a comercial she had heard a thousand times. it was a stupid comercial for a shampoo that will make your hair "shiny and soft". (Y/N) knew it was going to get stuck in her head at some point so no point in trying to fight it.

Humming softly she went back to her book. Her eyes went qiuckly over the text in front of her. Rereading it for the forth time she sighed. Speaking of shampoo, why did she have to do all this crap while Lily was out with her friends... well friend. She knew Severus for a few years now and ,despite (Y/N)'s best efforts, Lily didn't seem to want any other friends. maybe in middle school she thought.

Speak of the devil Lily entered the room gigling with Severus right behind her. (Y/N) decided that whatever they are talking about must be better than math.

"Hey Lily ,hey Sev. Whatcha doing?"(Y/N) asked playing with a page from the borring book.

She turned to look at me and smiled "Hey sis , Sev was just telling me more about Hogwarts" she responded not breaking eye contact.

You see (Y/N) loved her little sister but she had this unhealty obssesion with the supernatural. She used to belive in the supernatural too but the older twin grew out of it. Now lily was a diffrent story: she thought it was real. She liked to talk with Severus about all sorts of creatures: vampires, werewolves and Metamorphmagi but her favorites had to be wizards and witches. It had come to the point where Lily belived she was a witch. It was time for (Y/N) to talk to her little sister about it.

"Hey Sev?" She started slowly ,totaly forgeting about the book which was now sitting on the table in front of the sofa. "Can you give a moment with Lily please?" He nodded and put down the now empty glass of water.

After thanking Mrs Evans he muttered o small "I'll wait for you outside Lily" and closed the door.

"So um" She realised she didn't know what she wanted to say. This wasn't right! It didn't matter that Lily was younger! She was the more mature one, (Y/N) wasn't good with serious talks and Lily's anticipating eyes didn't make it any easier. Shaking her head she qiuckly formulated an idea in her head and full of determination spoke

"Lily listen. There isn't a single person on this Earth that would want more than me for that magic school to be real so that I wouldn't have to do that annoying homework ....But" Lily was smart for her age, she knew where this was going but despite the look on her little sister's face (Y/N) continued "you have to accept that it is not real and you are not a witch."

okay maybe that was a bit too harsh but no turning back now (Y/N) waited for an answer from her twin but Lily was only staring back at her paralyzed. Just when (Y/N) was starting to get worried a tear slid down the younger twin's cheek follwed by the quivering of the bottom lip. then another tear ,then another. Crap.

Now it was (Y/N)'s time to paralyze. She didn't get to apologise cause Lily stormed out of the room still crying. Great! This is just perfect! The girl picked up the book and made her way upstairs.

Her room was small and dark, a single window in the back of it. The right wall was covered in posters of TV-shows and Anime while the left was covered in books, most of which were SF or Fantasy. In the left corner was the bed. It wasn't done and one pillow ended up on the ground knocking some paintings and drawings that were placed next to the bed. The drawings were also placed on the messy desk full of books and clothes.

She lazily passed the morror on the wall. It showed a girl with red curly hair and brownish red eyes with specs of green. She was wearing casual clothes including a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt , she carried a book in her right hand and her left was running through her hair.

She crashed into the bed and left the math book in favor to a random book from the floor. Storm and Sea. It was a fantasy/romance novel about a Mermaid who was captured by a sailor until she fell in love with him. The ship got atacked at some point and the sailor died but insted of escaping and swimming away the mermaid was hearbroken and took the corpse with her in the depths. The sea empress, touched by the love of the mermaid proposed to take her soul insted of his. The mermaid accepted and the sailor woke up on the shore without any memory of the event.

Her mother thought that the book was a bit to mature for her but that didn't stop her from reading it. At that time she was a fan of the supernatural and ,even though she wasn't a big fan of romance books it was love at first read. She especialy liked the idea of love bettwin species.

She inspected the cover for a bit and before she had a chance to start reading her train of thoughts was interupted by a small knoking at her window.

She first looked outside. It was almost dusk and the sky was an explosion of colors. Not seeing anything outside she hurried and took a big cavan board and some colors including pinks, purples and reds and her favorite brushes and started sketching. Painting always made her feel better. After finishing the first layer she was stretching for a smaller brush when the same knoking started again.

Opening her window the girl was shoked to find a big grey owl flapping it's wings on the other side. Now (Y/N) had seen other owls before but what shoked her was that the owl flew straight into her room and landed on a pile of dirty clothes not breaking eye contact. The two letters on it's leg was the last straw.
