Chapter 3

Teri. She is well different. Ok that was the nicest way I could have put it. She runs around and hits people a lot of people. It hurts! It feels like you are getting hit with a piece of wood! I have tried being nice after all that's what my mother has taught me. To never not respond. If someone is talking you answer them and be kind. You always be kind. That is her only rule be kind. So they say she arrived for a "play date" I thought I should show her around my pod or "house". As soon as they opened the door she tackled me to the ground. Not knowing what to do I just laid there on my back looking like a complete idiot while a Teri was on top of me. She hit me in the arm.
"Well, your not much of a boy are you Roman?"
Her annoying little girl voice made me want to scream.
"I am so!"
I wiggled around trying to get her off of me.
"Well guess what!"
Well this ought to be good
"What?"
"We are getting married today!"
"No we are not!"
"Yes we are! My mommy said so."
No this can not be happing! I can not marry this crazy lady!
I pushed her off of me. She fell to the floor with a thud. I took of looking for my mother
"Mother!" I ran throughout the pod yelling for her. I looked high and low for her. She was sitting at her war table. "Mother! Why is Teri saying I'm going to marry her today?"
"Roman!" Her voice roared throughout the room. I suddenly remembered that I shouldn't be there. This was war room for galactic sakes. I knew I had made a mistake. I had to get out of there as fast as I came. I turned to run but there she stood. Little miss bossy herself. Teri and her mother looked at me and my mother with a disapproving eye. "Roman, can you come her please." I was worried about upsetting my mother. I did what I was told and walked right to her.
"Mother. I'm sorry I shouldn't have rushed into her." I could feel the gilt she put on me go away.
"Roman you will not be married until your 17th birthday. Although we have been discussing it is not settled on who you will be married to."
I felt like I could dance around the room. I wanted to jump, sing, and laugh.
I don't have to marry the evil girl
"Mother, I wish that you could have told me sooner! I don't have to marry her!" I didn't have to marry Teri. I don't have to kiss Teri!
"Well Roman, we haven't decided who you will be marrying yet but Teri is one of our choices." I could feel the happiness leave my skin. I wanted to be shot right then and there. IF! And I mean IF I marry this crazy lady that means. I would have to kiss her! "Teri I think it would be best time if you and your mother went home."
"Yes your highness." She did a little bow for my mother.
Is she sucking up to my mother! Is she trying to get me to marry her? What! Why is this happening to me! I have done nothing wrong I'm a good boy I follow the rules! I don't go around telling people I'm marrying them! I'm not like that!
Teri looked at me and blew me a kiss. She grabbed her mothers hand and walked out as quickly as she came.
"Mother, why? I will marry a slug instead of her!" I could feel my mothers disappointed eyes on my face. I couldn't even look at her.
"Roman! That is a awful thing to say!"
"I'm sorry mother but I would it's the truth." I wanted to run in a corner and hide and never come out. As soon as I thought anything couldn't get any worse.
"Sweetheart are you alright!" My father came crashing thought the doors and hugged my mother to see what was wrong.
"It's nothing." She simply said. When we find our mates we can feel what they feel. Read there minds. You are basically one person. You don't ever feel complete unless your with them. I was waiting. Waiting for my punishment from my father. For the endless rant from my father about getting married. Instead he just looked at me.
"Son let us walk." He stood up and walked to the door frame and waited for me. I was at a lost for words.
