Chapter 1 - Demon Killer
"When are you two going to get together?" Alexander asked. "You seem close yet show no intimate affection."
"You've always been so forward, Alexander. Ever since you were little." Lotti cooed ruffling the nobles' hair. "You're not here often enough to judge our relationship either."
"Please refrain yourself from ruining my cousins' hair. Lotti, get back to work." Ciel butted in sitting across from Alexander with Sebastian stood behind him. Lotti blushed a little upon seeing the demonic butler.
"Took you long enough, Ciel." Alexander said making his hair look a little more normal.
"I'm a busy person, Alexander." Ciel said coldly sitting down. "What business do you have here?"
"Well, a little birdy told me you needed information on the newest murderer." Alexander began and cleared his throat. "Rumour is that it's a female, not much younger than Miss Lotti, she is said to be murdering things inhumane."
"What are you saying?" Ciel asked taking in the information.
"The girl's killing demons, Ciel. Although to people with no knowledge of such things would see the bodies as another fellow human being." Alexander concluded.
"Killing demons." Ciel tapped his chin. "Sebastian, go get a list of possible suspects, be careful not to blow your cover."
***
"My lord," Sebastian said bowing in front of Ciel holding a list. "I have narrowed the possible suspects down to 3 people,"
"Go on." Ciel replied placing his papers to the side.
"Georgina Blandelli, an Italian female that had come to stay here with her father. Francesca Whitehall, a young girl that is said to sell fruits on the market. And a rather peculiar person, Alice Turner. Many say they believe Alice to be a male with a females' name."
"I see. Then we'll go have a talk with Miss Turner." Ciel stood from his desk. "Go collect Lotti, I believe for her to be of some use."
***
"Lotti, go and bring miss Turner to me. Don't be too long." Ciel ordered relaxing in the carriage. Lotti nodded and got out of the carriage and walked down the street. She brushed down her dress and made sure she walked like a high class woman. She entered a small store and at the till stood a small male with brunette hair and golden eyes, Lotti approached him cautiously then smiled.
"Excuse me," Lotti said politely getting the males' attention. "Do you know where I could possibly find a miss Alice Turner?"
"Ah, you've come to the right place, miss!" The male said cheerily, "I'm Alice, what can I do for ya?" Alice grinned, he noticed the confused look upon Lotti's face and decided to explain. "Parents wanted a girl," Alice said glumly.
"Oh?" Lotti said collecting herself and standing straight again, "Would you mind coming with me? My master would like to have a little talk with you."
Lotti was a little confused, obviously Alice couldn't be the killer. He was a boy to start with and Alexander clearly said the killer was a female. Alice followed Lotti back to the carriage and climbed inside.
"You rich folk sure do have it good, eh?" Alice laughed though Ciel didn't look the slightest amused. "What is it ya wanted to talk about, mister?"
"I specifically told you to bring Alice back here." Ciel grumbled pinching the bridge of his nose.
"This is Alice, young master." Lotti said quietly. "I apologise if he isn't what you expected." Sebastian was staring contently at the maid. Lotti had noticed this and attempted to make the butler feel uncomfortable as she did, though she only found herself blushing and getting flustered after Sebastian had licked his lips with a wink. Even Lotti knew he wasn't just toying with her feelings anymore and they were genuine. Sebastian often blushed whilst in the presence of the maid which was indeed strange behaviour for him.
"Nah, you've got it wrong!" Alice exclaimed. "The killer is taller than me, mister. She 'as these strange pink eyes an' matchin' hair!"
"Pink hair and pink eyes. I'm surprised the killer doesn't worry about standing out too much. Not many people in London have pink hair." Ciel stated, "Very well, be on your way. I have no use for you now."
***
Lotti hummed to herself as she dusted around the manor doing the occasional twirl as she danced along to the songs in her head. She twirled and tripped, she closed her eyes tight shut waiting for the impact of the floor but it never came. She opened one eye and saw the demonic butler holding her rather small body in an embrace.
"My love, you must be more careful." Sebastian whispered into the maids' ear, her cheeks reddening quickly at the gesture. Sebastian lifted her onto her feet again and smiled. "The young master has requested you accompany him and myself to a ball. He also mentioned you can spend time to yourself and be treated as a guest rather than a mere servant."
"I would love to, Sebastian, but what am I supposed to wear? The only clothes I own are from the day I had first arrived here at the manor and they are not as posh as many nobles' should be." Lotti replied as Sebastian slowly latched their hands together.
"The young master will provide the clothes, my love." Sebastian told her. "Please, they will be in your room already. You may take your leave." Sebastian leaned forward and placed a kiss onto Lotti's cheek before walking away down the hall.
***
"Mey-Rin!" Lotti screamed as she held onto the bedpost. "Too tight! These things will be the death of me!"
"You'll look lovely, yes you will!" Mey-Rin said happily ignoring the other maids' cries of pain. Mey-Rin finally stepped back and Lotti stood up straight. She then looked at the dress that had been laid on her bed. It was surely amazing and unbelievable that Ciel had bought it just for this ball and specially for her. Lotti smiled and tugged the dress onto her body liking her appearance. It was then that her mind drifted to the one particular male that had always managed to make her blush no matter what mood she had been in.
The dress was a lilac colour with many frills coloured black. Lotti looked beautiful and she only hoped Sebastian would think the same thing. She placed a pair of shoes onto her feet and sat down as Mey-Rin did her hair. There was a knock at the door though nobody came in.
"Miss Lotti, Sebastian says you 'ave to be done soon. Else the young master is leaven'." It was Baldroy, the two females heard footsteps indicating that the cook had now left. With Mey-Rin overlooking Lotti one last time she smiled and nodded.
"Thank you," Lotti said sincerely curtsying. Mey-Rin nodded again and adjusted her glasses.
Lotti stepped out of the room and headed to the large staircase. She began walking down the stairs and immediately Ciel's, Sebastian's, Finnian's, Baldroy's and Lau's eyes were on her. She felt a little uncomfortable but walked down the stairs in a high manor. When she reached the bottom Finnian smiled and complimented the maid at how wonderful she looked. Ciel cleared his throat and reminded Sebastian that they needed to go.
Ciel walked outside followed by Lau whilst Sebastian strode to the maid and took her hand kissing it with a smile.
"You look absolutely wonderful, my love." Sebastian said almost innocently. He held Lotti's hand and lead her outside to the carriage.
