Chapter 8 - Ronald Knox & Dolly Knox

"These guys can't be killed unless you smash in their heads, ya know." A young reaper jumped in front of Lotti and with his death scythe, smashed the being's head. "Like thiiiis!! Ya should pay attention to the important stuff." He said looking to Sebastian.

"You're..."

"Ahhhhh!! See, this chick's totally dead after all!! I so told them that I'd collected her properly." The reaper then collected the girls cinematic record and turned to Sebastian. A girl then entered the room, she had blonde hair, she clung to the male reapers arm. "That getup... Don't tell me, you're the rumoured 'Bassie'?"

"I have quite an aversion to that name, however... I am indeed the Phantomhive butler, Sebastian Michaelis. You are?" Sebastian said proudly.

"The shinigami dispatch association collection division: Ronald Knox and this cutie is Dolly Knox." Ronald grinned. "Thanks for taking care of my senior."

"You just said you can't kill them unless you smash their heads, but... do you shinigami know something about the revival of the dead?" Lotti asked curiously.

"Nope. We don't know any details either. We had reports of corpses whose souls had surely been collected moving around and stuff." Ronald stated.

"So since administration put in a claim saying it was our miss... we came here to investigate however... this here thing really was a genuine soulless corpse. Cos I definitely got Margaret Connors soul 2 weeks ago." Dolly stated.

"So the dead didn't get revived..." Francesca began.

"It was just the corpse moving..." Ciel finished.

"Is it possible for a soulless body to move around?" Lotti questioned.

"My bosses said it's totally impossible, but... the fact remains that they're actually up and about like this so the shinigami dispatch association is looking into it too." Ronald shrugged.

"So the only thing you know for sure is 'if you want to kill it, smash its head'..." Sebastian placed a hand on his chin.

"It's not really 'killing' though, just stopping their movement." Francesca smiled.

"Looks like our only option is forcing Ryan to spit it out. Lets go!!" Ciel ordered.

"He sure runs fast..." Francesca said.

"It seems so." Ciel replied.

"Where did Sebastian and Lotti go?" Francesca looked around curiously.

"They're playing around with the reapers." Ciel rolled his eyes and held out his hand, Francesca took it gladly.

The pair headed down the stairs to the Campania bottom freight storage. Ciel grabbed a light, it was incredibly dark.

Ciel let go of Francesca's hand for a moment and brought out a gun. He began looking around the place. He turned to look at Francesca and ran towards her - a moving corpse was right behind her. He knocked her out of the way and dropped the light in the process. The pair backed up against some large boxes.

"This isn't the one from just now. There were more!?" Ciel exclaimed. He looked closely at the corpse as it slowly walked towards them both.

"That's... the mark of the Aurora Society!!" Francesca said. "Ryan brought another revived corpse?" There was a small pause. "Ciel... there's more of them! Look!"

"You're as good as the rumours said you'd be." Ronald complimented Lotti as the four continued to fight each other. "Whoops!! It's almost time! We weren't supposed to be playing around!"

"Eh?" Lotti stopped and stood still.

"No way am I gonna write an apology for being late! One should know how to do their job, right? So anyway, see ya! Bassie and miss Lotti!!" Ronald winked then effortlessly lifted Dolly up and rushed off.

"Hmmm." Sebastian walked over to Lotti and embraced her. "You did well, my love. We should find the young master and lady Francesca." And with one quick kiss, the two demons headed off.

"Francesca, run!!" Ciel yelled, pulling Francesca along behind him.

"They're in front of the exit too..." Francesca clung to Ciel. The Earl shot one of the corpses in the head and it sprawled out on the floor lifelessly.

"Quickly, climb on top of the boxes!!" And with that Ciel helped Francesca climb to the top then climbed up himself. "Seems like they can't climb..."

"They don't seem to have any intelligence nor any sense of sight or pain." Francesca paused. "If they had intelligence they would leave us and head upstairs, right? They would find a lot more food that way."

"Precisely. The only thing left is their hearing. If they rely on their ears, we might be able to get away by distracting them with some kind of sound." Ciel looked around a little. "How about throwing this stone?" And then Ciel threw it. It made a loud sound but the corpses didn't move.

"No use... But then, how are they following us? There are some without noses as well and I think it's be pretty hard to follow our bodies' scents with this putrid smell around..." Francesca held her chin in thought.

Then all of a sudden, the boxes began shaking. Ciel grabbed onto Francesca to stop her from falling off and into the middle of the crowd of corpses. Francesca buried her face in Ciel's chest and squeezed her eyes shut.

"Why is your playtime taking so long Sebastian!" Ciel said angrily.

"Ciel!"

"It's okay. I'll definitely protect you at least!! No matter what happens!!" Ciel said proudly, wrapping his arms around Francesca.

"How admirable, young master." Sebastian stood at the stairs with Lotti. He threw knives at the corpses and a few of them fell to the ground. "That's how an English gentleman is suppose to be."

"Sebastian! Lotti! Don't stand about, clean them up already!!"

"As you wish." Sebastian and Lotti said in sync before crushing the corpses' heads.
