I arrive to the hall early, due to the fact that Dad was asked to help with the final scores for the individual grades. I got ready and helped out for a few things.
Got ready, registered and got my number of the grade I'm qualifying for, then just relax (not!). Even though we did a practice session yesterday, I'm still a nervous wreck! Okay, the grading's steward call all of us out that were there, we started our warm ups, but also reminded that the judges have started grading us since the session started (the pressure is on).
After the warm up, we relaxed a little, but then we were called up by the number of registration. "Can I please have 6K1, 6K2, 6k3 (me!), 5k1 and 5k2 to come out first." called out the grading steward. So yeah, as you guessed we all went out and followed the steward to a particular line in front of the judging panel.
The first thing we did was directions, mae (forward), ato (backwards), migi (right) and hidari (left). Then we did high suburi men, kote and do, but after we did four of each cut on a motodachi. We finished, about to move off, but then called back because the grading's steward forgot that we were required to do kirikaeshi. So we go back, do kirikaeshi and went back to our beginning places on the floor behind our gear.
So, as nerve wracking as it was, I managed to calm down take a drink and sit back down. We had to remain quiet to show respect to the other students who are doing their grading's, but I was getting annoyed how the people who were doing badminton next door kept on viewing what we were doing and talking.
//TIME SKIP BY 1 HOUR brought to you by your current reads\\
Everything is done, now all there is to do is add up together the results. So I guess we are waiting another half an hour till that is all done. We all started packing our gear, until we are all called up for the results. Sensei called out our grades "in order of appearance". When he said what grade I got, I was literally on the verge of tears (but no tears were shown).
When all of that craziness was done, we continued to pack our gear, got individual feed back from the judges. All was good, I'm so proud of myself and what I did.
