sienna
the next few days flew by in a blur of fashion, friends and flashes. true to her word, iris barely left my side throughout the shoot and even though i repeatedly told her it was fine to make contact with the outside world, she refused to go on her phone when i was around. i knew she still felt guilty even if i had forgiven her but if it made her feel better i would never let her go on her phone again.
however, she did slightly take it to the extremes when she refused to even talk about the boys and made us both turn our phones off, it was all good natured but i missed out on some major celeb drama on twitter which i will never truly forgive her for!
it was two days after the shoot had finished (it went amazing!!!!) when iris finally bought up the subject of ashton, she hadn't seen them since the first day of the shoot and it was clear she was suffering from withdrawal symptoms but it was okay because the next day we had the billboard music awards which meant that we would all be reunited.
iris's phone had been buzzing non-stop but since we were at our dress fitting for the awards and we were still having 'girl time' she wasn't picking up and it was slowly driving me over the edge.
"iris just pick up the damn phone"
"what? i don't know what you're talking about sie" she said, brushing off the subject.
"oh come on, he's like a lost puppy without you" she chuckled as her face grew hot.
"shut up, it's girl time: no boys allowed!"
"what's girl time when we can't even talk about boys?" she looked at me and rolled her eyes.
"we are both empowered women who don't need men or need to talk abou--"
"i swear to god if you don't pick up that call, i will." that shut her up straight away and caused her to scurry over to her phone with a sheepish smile on her face.
"i'll be like a minute max." she shouted as she practically ran out the room.
"take your time" i shouted back but i knew that iris, being as stubborn as she is, would take as long as she wanted.
after making polite conversation with the girls who were fitting our dresses for about 10 minutes, iris skipped into the room, beaming like she had just won the lottery.
"he wants to take me on a date" she practically squealed "a proper date, like a dinner and a movie and he'll open all the doors for me and lend me his coat if i'm cold and all that other cheesy shit you see in movies"
my heart wanted to explode with joy seeing how happy she was at the prospect and i had never been more happy for her. although iris was always in relationships she was also always in control, she'd always planned everything which was great but she had never really had anyone to reciprocate.
the smile on my best friends face was what i aspired for and every doubt i had of whatever was going on between them (it was moving too fast, he wasn't serious etc etc) disappeared... ashton irwin was a good egg.
"when is this whole endeavour taking place then?"
"that's the thing, it's tomorrow! after the awards... is that okay with you? what will you do?"
"stop worrying about me, there are much more important things to discuss like what are you going to wear?"
we bursted into excited chatter discussing every detail and possible situation he could have planned, not stopping until we were both too tired to stay awake.
