Elliot's grip around me loosens as he rolls over and sleepily rubs his hair. He sits up and starts getting dressed. Realizing i don't feel his warmth anymore I sit up, "Elliot?" I say, still having blurry vision from waking up suddenly. "I have to go handle something." He says as he puts his hoodie on. "I'm coming too." I reply. "You don't have to." He says. Seeing me clearly tired he continues on. "I'll be back soon." He says. He kisses my forehead. "Okay babe." I reply. I lay back down as he leaves.

I wake up sometime later. I look around and the apartment looks empty. "Ell?" I say getting up. I go across the hall to my apartment and knock frantically on the door. "What's wrong?" Darlene asks. "Is Elliot here?" I ask. She shakes her head. "He left in the middle of the night and didn't come home." I say. I walk by her, "What if he's hurt?!" I ask. "Lexi he's done this before we'll find him." She says. "What did he say when he left?" She asks. "That he'd be back." I answer. I get my phone and call him. It rings to voicemail. "What do we do?" I ask. "Me and Angela will go look for him." She answers. "Can I come too?" I ask. She pauses. "Sure." She answers. We get dressed and meet up with Angela. "If we fan out we can cover more ground." She says. Me and Darlene agree. I take downtown, Angela takes uptown and Darlene goes to their childhood home. I check everywhere from the FSociety arcade to the AllSafe building.

On my way home I find him. "Elliot where have you been?!" I ask. "I told you I had to go handle some things." He replies. "You had me worried, you had us all worried." I say. "Have they gotten to you that bad since I was gone?" He asks. "I'm calling Darlene and Angela and going home." I reply walking away. He follows me. "Lexi I didn't mean it that way." He says. "How did you mean it then?" I ask. "I meant that people treat me like I'm crazy. I have depression yeah but I'm not a basket case. I thought you knew that." He answers. "I do know that and I didn't say I thought you were a basket case. For all I knew you could've gotten kidnapped by Dark Army. Leaving home in the middle of the night and not coming back isn't exactly normal." I remind. "But excuse me for worrying about my boyfriend." I say turning away. "I love you." He responds. I stop. "I just chewed you out and you're telling me you love me?" I ask. "I promised myself to never let you go to sleep angry or questioning my love for you. I know you're going back to your apartment and not going to answer the door when I come over or return my texts. Then you're going to go to sleep thinking about what happened. When you do I want you to know that I love you regardless." He answers. He hands me a ring box from his pocket. "Happy Valentines day." He says subtly smiling. He walks away and I open the box. It's the most beautiful engagement ring I've ever seen, and the top of the box has the words "Will You Marry Me, Lexi?" printed on it. He had this customed made and thats where he's been this whole time. "Elliot wait!" I say rushing after him. He stops and turns around. "Yes!" I say. "I'd love to marry you, if you still want to marry me." I add. "Of course I do." He replies. I give him the ring box and he gets down on one knee, "Officially then, will you marry me?" He asks. "Yes Ell a thousand times yes!" I answer excitedly. He puts the ring on my finger. He gets up and I cup his face kissing him. People around us cheer and clap. We awkwardly wave and smile. "Why are they clapping?" He whispers. "It's a beautiful moment." I answer.
