Elliot has been missing for 3 days. We're all worried. Darlene and Angela went looking for him earlier and as much as I wanted to go aswell I knew it would be best to stay behind. I wouldn't know the first place to look despite us getting closer. We talk and sometimes he calls me over when he feels lonely. Sometimes he comes over and asks if he can help me cook. Which I always agree to. Darlene moved into some guy called Cisco's apartment so they haven't been talking as much. Neither have we. I feel like i'm losing her. We haven't been the same since i started hanging out with Elliot more. I understand her being worried about him but I would never do anything to hurt him.
The last time I saw him he was acting weirdly. He was outgoing and extremely sociable. It was like he was another person, I didn't say anything. I didn't want to make him feel alienated.
*KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK* I hear next door. I open the door to a group of police outside of Elliot's apartment. "He's not..." I begin, before he opens the door. "Home." I finish as the officers force their way inside. "You're under arrest. Call animal services to get the dog." An officer says. Elliot looks spaced out as they handcuff him against the wall. The officer reads him his rights. "Ma'am this is an active crime scene." The officer says. "For what?" I ask. Not realizing I had made my way to Elliot, who's still against the wall. "Your friend here hacked into a man's computer, blackmailed him and stole his dog." The officer says. Just as he finishes his sentence Flipper runs to me. I pick her up and hold her in my arms. Animal control arrives at the door. A worker hands for her. I back away. "Let her keep her." Elliot says. Seemingly just now realizing the situation. The police officer nods, "They don't want her back." He says. He pulls Elliot away from the wall and pushes him along towards the stairs. I put Flipper in my apartment and follow behind them all the way to the police car. "Elliot..." I say. He turns to me
and presses his lips to mine.
We eventually pull apart and he looks me in my eyes. "Take care of things. I know I can trust you." He says. I hug him. "Ofcourse." I reply fighting back tears. The police officer sighs and rolls his eyes as he stands by the now opened car door. Elliot gets in and smiles. I return the gesture, even though I'd rather sob. Why wouldn't I?
As the car leaves I get my cell phone out.
Darlene's phone rings all the way to the voicemail. "Darlene! Elliot just got arrested for hacking that guy Krista was dating! Call me back ASAP!" I say. She hardly ever answers when I call anymore. She always calls back after the voicemail. If I leave one.
My phone rings a few minutes after I left the voicemail. "Yeah." I say as I return to my doorway. The cops are still raiding Elliot's apartment. I see his laptop still open on his bed I hope he was smart enough to delete evidence. "Did they mention anything about F-Society?" Darlene asks. "No, just the hacking that guy, blackmail and stealing Flipper." I answer. "He stole Flipper?!" She replies. "Yeah I think he told me something about that a little while back. He says he saw the guy mistreating her." I say as I peep into the apartment. I see them inspecting the microwave. He never cooks anything in it, other than parts. "Did they take her?" Darlene asks. "No I have her. And that's the messed up part! He didn't want her back he just wanted Elliot arrested." I answer. "Ugh I can't believe he got caught! He knows better!" She says. I sigh. "How long do you think he'll get?" I ask. "Maybe a year. Flipper isn't exactly your everyday dog. She looks like she could be an expensive breed. If she's worth a certain amount he could get hit with a felony." She answers. "Dammit." I say audibly.
A police officer walks over to me. "May I ask you a few questions ma'am. As his neighbor." He asks. I nod. "Did you witness any suspicious activity from his apartment?" He asks. "No, he's a quiet guy." I answer. "I see." The officer says. "Do you know him personally?" He asks. "We're neighbors." I answer. "I see." The officer says. "The dog seems to take a liking to you." He adds. "She's a sweet dog." I reply. "Ma'am are you lying to us?" The officer says. They're suspicious of something, but what....
F-Society!
The whole country is on high alert from the hack. They're suspicious of any and all known hackers. They must think Elliot could possibly be involved. "So..." The officer begins before I interrupt. "Are you attempting to interrogate me?" I ask. "No ma'am. We're just compiling information." He answers. "And how is that going?" I ask. "Not well." He answers with a smile. "People usually get confrontational. Not realizing that the majority of information from cases come from witnesses. Neighbors, co-workers, family, friends." He says. He's a nice guy just doing his job. I don't want to give him a hard time. "I can imagine how frustrating that could be." I reply. The officer smiles. The officers finish cleaning the apartment. "All clear." One says to the officer. He nods. "It was nice meeting you, Mrs...I didn't get your name." He says. Darlene enters the doors leading to the steps. "Lexi Abarai." I reply. "Lexi." The officer says. He shakes my hand, nods and leaves.
"He's been gone for 10 minutes and you're already flirting with the cops that arrested him." She says. She's not joking, she's super defensive of Elliot. "I was just talking to them, Darlene." I reply. "If you say so." She says.
We go into his apartment. "They took his computer and laptop." I say. "Did he wipe them?" She asks. "I don't know. I didn't even know he was here until the cops came." I answer. "He didn't come over?" She asks. "No." I answer. She pauses. "So what's the plan." She asks as she stares at the floor. "I know you have one." She adds. "Well once he's booked i'm gonna go to work on the jail's system. I should be able to lower his sentence under circumstances." I reply.
That's why I was brought into F-Society. My specialty is company hacking, i'm also pro at logical social engineering and human relations. "How exactly?" Darlene asks. "It's going to be simple and easy. 5/9 is wreaking havoc on the government's budgets. They only want to spend on what they need so they're releasing non-violent offenders. He's probably in holding right now. I'm going to have him go to court immediately and once he's sentenced I can bump him to the top of the release list. He'll be in there no more than 90 days tops and it'll look like he was released because of budget cuts." I answer. "Hmm. I admit i'm impressed." She replies. "So you have everything here?" She asks. "Yeah i'll make sure everything is just the same as he left it." I answer. "Cool." She says. She pauses. "Listen." She says. "I know I gave you alot of shit for being close to him but...." She rolls her eyes. "If he had to be with someone i'd want it to be you." She reveals. I hug her. "Remember when we used to tell people we were sisters just to mess with them." She says. "They knew we were 100% 0% percent related." I reply. "Maybe adopted lol." She says. We laugh together.
