Mary always preferred not to receive any calls on her phone, it was more comfortable to her to receive text messages or use Whatsapp. Her step mother urged her nonstop to answer her whenever she call her, however the girl never listened to her until the girl decided to stay at her friend's house for a slumber party "Please Mary don't do it for me but for your father, answer the god damn phone, you know we rather call instead of text messages don't make us worry, haven't you watched the news?.
That day Mary kept an eye on the phone, she was watching a movie with her friends and noticed the screen lit. Mary asked one of her friends to pause the movie, she went to the kitchen to speak, pressed the answer button and from the other side she heard the quavering voice of her stepmother saying, "Someone is in the house in the second floor! He's got a gun! I hid on the guest bathroom, your father is not picking up the phone, I'll try to call the poli..."
End of the call... The girl pressed some numbers and a masculine voice picked up, "Yes?"
"Go down, she is on the guest bathroom" Said Mary.
