"Why would he just leave you like that sweetie?" My mother asked standing in her kitchen in Louisville, Kentucky.
"I don't know mom." my eyes still hurt from crying, and on top of that i was exhausted.
"Tell me again from the beginning what happened." I sighed and told her again, what happened. "Katie, the only solution is go after him." I almost spit my drink everywhere. "WHAT?! Mother, i can not just gallivant off to Scotland. He obviously didn't want me there." about that time all five of my big brothers came bounding in through the house which made us stop our conversation, which i didn't mind because that wasn't the conversation i wanted to have with my mother.
"LIZZIE!" my oldest brother Blake came running up to me and picked me up. "How the hell are you baby sis?"
I couldn't help but laugh, "Better now Blake. I've missed you guys so much!" I smiled hugging each of my brothers.
"Hey, where's Jacob?" my middle brother Daniel asked. "why isn't he here with you? He hasn't broken your heart has he?"
I had to choke back tears, again. "No," I said shaking my head, "He um...he had to go on a trip for a while." But my brothers didn't seem convinced. About that time my phone rang and i saw it was Jacob. I had nothing to say to him right now so i silenced my phone. I was there to spend time with my family I hadn't seen in almost a year. My oldest Brother Blake is married and has three kids, my second brother Daniel has a baby girl on the way, that they are naming after me. My brother James has one baby boy. My brother Malcolm is engaged, and my younget brother Tyler is still single.
Jacob called me 5 more times that night but i wasn't going to talk to him, i was still pissed at him. About three days before Christmas, my brothers found my phone while i was helping mom in the kitchen and they saw all the text messages he was leaving me. So they appointed Blake to talk to me.
"Hey, can i borrow you for a few minutes sis?" Blake was standing in the doorway to the kitchen holding two beers.
"Yeah. Sure." I followed him out onto the front porch and sat down net to him. "Well, we haven't done this in a while have we?" I asked my big brother smiling.
"Yeah, not since I found out i was gonna be a daddy." He smiled but then his tone changed. "Lizzie," that was his nickname for me that and his wife's name was also Katie, "Mom told us what happened with you and Jake, and we saw the text messages he's been sending you. Why won't you talk to him. You know he loves you."
"Dammit Blake! Why can't you stay out of it!?" I felt myself about tocry again, i sighed and tried to hold in the tears, "I know he loves me, but if he really loved me he would've just let me go with him, or at least told me like a man and not left a damn note!" I yelled for almost half an hour about how pissed i was at Jacob.
"Lizzie?" Blake asked grabbing my hand "Why didn't you just tell me?"
I had to close my eyes, "I don't know what you're talking about." yeah Katie play dumb because that always works wonders for everybody.
"Katie, come on. You really think i can't tell that you're pregnant?"
"How the hell did you figure it out Blake? Stupid question sorry."
"Well, for one you haven't had any of the beer i brought out here for you, second, you eat like a damn bird at meals and eat shit all day, and third, you just told me." He smirked at that last one. "Does Jake know?"
"No...that's what pisses me off most, is that i had it all planned out how i was gonna tell him. And now he's off in fucking Scotland! Like what the hell man?! What am i gonna do?"
"Well, first off, you're going to go inside and tell mom and dad, then, you are going to Scotland. The boys and i all bought you a ticket." Blake smiled.
"you guys are the best big brothers any girl could ask for. I love you guys." I smiled hugging him.
So, I went in and told the rest of my family. And then a few hours later I was on a plane to Scotland to see my fiance and meet his family.
