*AN: As always, this is unbetaed; All props and quotes are taken from the great work of Fangirling_FTW_ *
*puts her hands on the desk* The story starts with Cas working at his bakery/geek emporium Co-Owned with our one and only Charlie (AKA: Our Co-CEO of the Destiel Shipping Company) *smirks* Speaking of Charlie, she's just coming through the door with a Greek God newcomer (Also known as Dean Winchester)
{This wasn't just 'some' guy. He had a confidence in his step, and as he approached the counter, Castiel got lost in his face, bright green eyes, a dusting of freckles across his nose, and those lips...}
*daydreams only to snap out of it* Well then... He asks for some pie (PIEEEEEEEE!!!!!) and bonds with Castiel over the quality of his sweets (and Dean's quality of shirt choice).Well, problem (for them, not us) is that Dean is not exactly a newcomer, more like a returning Wayward Son, if you may.

*in a fake posh British accent* But worry not Dean! Knight Castiel with it's newness to this village will save you from your self-imposed tower! Yeah... *sigh* Only problem for Cas is that Dean is as straight as an arrow (at this moment) and has more baggage than a jumbo jet. Cas is completely and irrevocably infatuated with him (AKA: Horny for him) with having just seen him just one time. Charlie tries to warn him about Dean (clearly not knowing of her functions as Co-CEO)
{"Dean is straight, A," She began , and Castiel wasn't really surprised. Still Charlie felt the need to keep going, "and B, he's not exactly the dating type either. I mean, I love him like a brother, but he's got issues. He's your stereotypical 'love em and leave em' kinda guy"}
And then Cas says to her clearly that as long as Dean is straight (not for many more months) he will just admire Dean from a distance (*snorts* Yeah right, and I'm the Queen of Sheba), prompting Dean to enter just after that conversation (who knows how the story would've went if he just finished eating his pie two minutes before) with one of the best apportions to Destiel history:
{"Dude, your pie: Better than sex. I'll be coming back for more." He gave Castiel a small smirk} (Yeah, but are you sure it's better than sex with Cas?)
*notices that she just went off subject* Welp then... Ok, Dean warns Cas that he will go back to the bakery regularly because of Cas (and not in the least by a certain black haired, blue eyed, gorgeous baker). After that, Charlie warns Cas about a "conversation" they will have later (really, I think I would piss my pants if Charlie wanted to have that type of "conversation" with me *shivers*). After all that has happened in just a few minutes (AKA: Meeting the love of your life but then learning they are straight) Cas is left like a deer in the headlights, not knowing what to do for about thirty minutes but then going back to his job because somebody has to bring home the bacon and it won't be Santa Claus. A few hours later Hannah (who in this work isn't so creepy, her only offense was asking Cas out a few months ago) helps to close up shop and promptly goes home (which is on top of the bakery) and starts daydreaming about our green-eyed Adonis *dreamy sigh* I feel ya, Cas.

Well, anywho, Charlie promptly appears and gives us a summary of what the backstory in Dean's side is: *prepares herself for feels yet absolutely fails* Charlie and the Winchesters (or as I like to call them, the Unholy Team Free Will) met when Charlie's mom had died, leaving her in a bad spot, becoming her only family, until, with Sam going to Stanford (or as I like to call that university, WHY?!?), Dean drifted away. He never had finished High School and college wasn't his thing because Dean spent most of his time raising Sam (all of this and more thanks to John Winchester's A+ Parenting, *game show presenter voice* Let's give it an applause! *crickets chirp*) so once Sam was gone, Dean basically didn't know what to do, so he went on an indefinite roadtrip. Y'know, Meeting people, Doing things, The family business (only thing that's different is that demons (or fallen angels) are not here to kill every human female we love from the early seasons) and did what you would expect. Getting into way too many bar fights, his longest relationships being two-night stands, get in trouble with da po-po, the whole shtick.
*disappointed sigh* Charlie then Flashfowards to some two-three years later, telling us that Dean and Sam had a pretty big fight about Dean returning home now that Sam was about to graduate (it also didn't help that Sam had just bailed Dean from jail). Sam was coming back for the summer and trying to get Dean to give him a solid grounding to build on. Turns out, Dean was living with our favorite character, for about a year, and had just broken up. And who exactly is this favorite character of ours? Why! Of course it's Lisa! And so Dean moved back to our darling small town, and getting babysitted by Charlie because nobody likes Dean when he's drunk. And because he's the Dean we know and love, he went to Charlie's work place just to spite her, and the rest is history. Cas after that says he's not mad that that happened but Charlie then brings to light something that we all love (and love to love, and love that they love to love), Cas' irrefutable crush at Dean. (Of course, I mean, just look at him *points at an image of shirtless Jensen*, That man's a masterpiece!). Cas tries to assure her that as long as Dean's straight, he'll try to forget 'bout his huge crush (Keyword: Tries (Also, he's not even making it believable to himself, much less Charlie)). Charlie (Once again having forgotten about her functions as Co-CEO of the DSC) tries to warn him that people fall in love with Dean way too easily and she just wants to spare Cas the pain (That ship sailed the moment that Dean entered the shop, Charlie). Cas once again tries (TRIES) to assure Charlie and Charlie doesn't believe him a bit, so she asks him to forget Dean. They talk a little bit longer and the chapter ends with Cas now in bed asking to himself what's so bad about being around Dean Winchester.

SONG OF THE CHAPTER:

(To the melody of "Falling Slowly" of the musical "Once")
Cas:
🎶I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Your references go through me
And always fool me
And my Grace can't react
And stakes that never even out
To all of the involved
Will lead to our falls
Take this sinking hope
And lift it up
We all need time
Raise your hopeful voice
You have a choice
Please make it now
Falling slowly
Souls that know me
And I am changed
And memories change me and erase me
And I'm already gone
And you have suffered for us both
And warred with the world
It's time that you won
Take this sinking hope
And lift it up
We don't have more time
Raise your broken voice
We have a choice
Don't make us doubt
Falling slowly
We're almost on the ground
I know I've fallen for you🎶
