"You can't be serious!", I groan as I see one of the other players grab Brookline's face mask. "What the hell was that?" I yell and my dad looks over at me when I sit back down. I threw a tiny tantrum when I saw the unfairness happening on the field.
"Getting a little pumped there?" He asks me. I roll my eyes and stare forward. "What is it about you? Last time we went to a football game, you just made fun of everyone". Atrix let's out a small chuckle from beside me.
"Now that'd make things interesting. Just Ben literally roasting everyone on the field. Wish I would have got that Ben instead of this one. You've almost jumped on me 17 times and not in the good way", Atrix says. I shake my head.
"You guys just don't care that that guy almost got away with that! It was completely unfair and someone needed to something about it" I cross my arms and sit back."They were already taking care of it" my dad says and Atrix nods. I shake my head and my dad sighs. "The same thing happened with #12 out there... You didn't yell about him. Just that #7..".
"Who is #7 again? I don't usually pay attention", Atrix asks, tilting his head and looking at the field. I glance at him and he looks back. "Oh, its Hamilton isn't it?". I nod slowly and he sighs. "Mr. Judson?". My dad looks at him and raises his eyebrow. "Can I take your ton to a high school party?"
"Will there be adult things?" My dad asks. Atrix just shrugs. "Fine. But don't let him get too wasted and don't let him out of your sight. Have him home by...12...12:30". Atrix smiles widely and thanks him.
I groan and go back to watching the game. After its over, I'm dragged away from my parents by Atrix and yell a goodbye to my parents.
I'm pushed into Atrix's car and we drive away from the game. "Can we go by taco bell first? I'm hungry", I pout at him and he nods. We go through the drive through then eat on the way.
When we arrive at the large house where the party was, I use this moment to gawk. "Wait..." I ask after getting out of the car with Atrix. "This is the Napier's home.. They don't have any kids in high school"
"Miss Napier rents it out on the weekends when she goes in trips. Its weird and fishy but true" he shrugs. I shrug as well and we go inside.
My eyes automatically go to Brookline when we first walk in. He was sitting in a chair, his hair an absolute mess and he looked exhausted. "I'm gonna grab some vodka. I'll bring you a water", Atrix says before walking off.
I take a deep breath and walk towards Brookline hesitantly. I don't get 4 steps away from him before he looks at me. I stop and he waves me over. "Come in, I don't bite". His voice sounded so tired and his eyes looked sleepy.
He played hard, I didn't know it was that hard though. "Thought you liked parties.. Why are you here?", I ask him softly.
"I actually hate parties after games. This is usually what I do the entire time. I just come because my teammates say its an obligation", he replies, still looking at me.
"Oh, I'm sorry. That's not very fair", I frown. He shrugs and runs a hand down his arm. "Its really loud down here".
Brookline stands and looks down at me. "We could go to one of the rooms? Just to talk..obviously. My head is killing me and I just wanna have a normal conversation with someone who doesn't make me wanna jump off a rollercoaster that's going at full speed" , he laughs lightly.
I nod and let him lead me up to one of the bedrooms. He lays down in the bed and I sit beside him. "You enjoyed the game?" He asks. I nod and we start talking about it.
It must have been an hour later and his head was now on my lap and his eyes were starting to droop. "Can I sleep?", he whispers. I lean down and kiss his head before nodding. "Ben?"
"Hm?" I reply, scared he was going to yell at me for kissing any part of him.
"You missed my lips", he replies. I look down at him and slowly lean my head down. My lips were just inches from his before the door slams open, revealing bright flash lights in our eyes....the police.
