He stroked my hair softly as he looked at me. "Hey", He whispers with a very small smile. I didn't return the smile. I simply just stared up at him. I was shocked that he was here, but I was also pissed off that this had to happen for him to show his face. "The doctors said you got in a pretty bad accident, were you driving by yourself?".

This got me to raise an eyebrow at him. He looked down at me in slight confusion. "The doctors said you got in a car accident", he states. Wow, I'm glad he told me. I didn't think I would have figured that one out. "Why were you driving alone? You don't have your liscense yet". I continue to look at him with a confused reaction.

I opened my mouth to speak but was interrupted by the door swinging open. In, finally, walked my parents. To my surpirse, they weren't hysteric. Hell, they weren't even crying. "Oh, Ben", my mother sighed as she walked over to me.

Now, I was insanely confused. Why was everyone treating me like I just had a slight cough. I couldn't move, why did they not understand that? I could have died tonight, and they're just standing there as if I just came to the hospital for fun.

"What have we told you, Ben? You can't drive by yourself, especially not at night", my father said. I was completely dumbfounded. I rode with Alex, first of all. Yes I drove there but he was the one driving when the accident happened. I had nothing to do with this.

Finally, the door opened and in walked the nurse from earlier. Not the annoying intern, thank God, but the actual nurse. The short one with the southern accent. I looked at her, basically silently begging her to explain to me what's wrong.

"You must be Bennet's family", she says with a smile. My mother and father nod, but Brookline was too focused on me to say anything. "My name is nurse June. I'm sure you're very worried about your boy".

My mother looks at her with an odd expression that I can't read. "What do you mean? He got himself in a minor accident. He's fine, why would we be worried?".

It was Nurse Jude's turn to make the confused expression. "Ma'am...I-", She was cut off by the door opening again. This time it was a doctor with a clip board in his hands.

He approaches me and stands beside my bed. "Mr and Mrs. Judson. I don't understand where you've got the idea that it was a minor accident. In fact, it definitely wasn't. Bennet was also not driving", the doctor says. Finally, someone speaks truth.

My mom puts a hand over her heart. "But Alex, the boy he was with. He's fine, and he claimed that he wasn't driving", my mother says. What the f*ck?

"I assure you, he is being quite dishonest. We have records, and we found your son in the passengers seat", the doc replies, then looks to me. He looks back at my confused and worried parents.

"You said that he isn't okay?", my father asks. "What's wrong with him? Why is my boy in here and the reason he is here is just fine?".

"Thee other boy wasn't wearing a seat belt", Jude replies, then looks to the approving doctor. My father just looks at the pair of medican professionals.

    "Okay?", my father asks.

"Your son... did have a seatbelt on. And when he was thrown against the side of the car, his seatbelt went across his neck", Jude replies. My mother shakes her head.

   "So?", she asks.

"Mr and Mrs. Judson, the nerves in your son's neck.. they're damaged. Which means you're son cannot move at all and will need emergency surgery", the doctor says.
