Beau’s POV

I was so pissed off with Jai, I waited outside to pick him up from school, I didn’t have too and I had better things to do but I thought it would be hard for him to walk even though it’s a very short distance. He didn’t show, I even texted him at lunchtime to say I was picking him up but I never got a reply. After he didn’t show I picked Skip up from his house and we went to a party I wasn’t going to go to. Mum was working late so I was going to stay in and look after Jai but he’d pissed me off more than he ever had before. I was at the party for an hour when my iPhone rang, I hadn’t drunk anything because I had work in the morning so I went outside where it was quieter to answer it,

“Hello?” I asked, I didn’t recognise the number so I had no clue who it was

“Hello, is that Mr Beau Brooks?” A lady I didn’t know voice asked

“Yes”

“I’m from Glenroy community hospital, I’m calling about your brother Luke, he seems quite distressed and your Mum can’t get off work, would you be able to come and talk to him and calm him down?”

“Uh yeah, I’ll be right there” I said hanging up. I didn’t bother telling Skip where I was going, if Jake had found Luke, I didn’t have time to waste.

I walked to my car and drove to the hospital. I walked up the familiar corridor and into Luke’s room. The blind was down on the window and the door was half open. I slowly went in to find Luke curled up in his bed and a random nurse I’d never seen before trying to console him.

“Mr Brooks?” She asked, I nodded

“I’ll leave you to it” She said getting up and leaving the room

“Luke?” I said and cautiously walked over to him and pulled the sheets back, he was in a little ball with loads of scrunched up tissues around him,

“What’s wrong? Is it Jake?” I asked

He just carried on crying and sobbing

“Luke what’s wrong?” I asked

“Jai never wants to see me again” He sobbed

“Is that it?” I asked pissed that he was over reacting so much.

“He wanted me to tell him why I hurt him, but I couldn’t” He said looking up at me through tear filled eyes.

I sat on the edge of the bed and sighed.

“Look, Luke. Just pull yourself together. When this is all over then you can tell him the truth. I’ll back you up Luke. He will believe you and I’ll make sure he does. If he does hate you, it’s not for long, just wait until you’re better and then I’ll help you sort this all out; you don’t have to do it by yourself anymore” I said softly to him. By this time he’d sat up in bed and had his head on my shoulder. When I finished talking to him he was fast asleep on my shoulder. I gently laid him back down in bed and tucked the covers over him. I left the room and walked back to my car. When I got home I looked around the house for Jai, but he wasn’t here. I walked into his room to look for his uniform, but it wasn’t there either.

So Jai was out at 7pm still wearing his school uniform. I rung his phone a few times but I got no answer. I got in my car and drove around trying to find him. Seriously what the fuck was wrong with this kid today. I drove around for a few hours until I finally found Jai. He was sat on a park bench shivering and close to tears.

I got out of my car with a blanket and wrapped it around Jai.

“Where the fuck have you been today?” I asked him
