Headlights Driving South

Gabby looked out the trunk window as her eyes followed the lights going along with them down the same dark road. Everyone was asleep, except her and the driver of course. You could see the glare of the lights on her glasses, her eyes seeming subtle and calming as her body didn't seem that tense. Tyler was asleep besides her and was giving out soft grunts everyone minute or so. She then heard a yawn from behind her and whipped her head to where she heard the yawn. Her eyes looking up and down to notice that it was Josh, his hair was rather messy and rather noticeable eye bags could be seen from some red light from a passing car. He didn't notice Gabby so it made it more awkward for her. She quietly shuffled her knees towards the seat that Josh was sitting in. "Hey." She whispered to Josh, she must've of scared him since he jumped and threw his hands up a bit. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. But you and I are the only ones up." She whispered as she shrugged her shoulders. "It's 6 am so that makes sense." Josh whispered back, flashing a smile as his eyes glanced down at Kate, she was rather deeply asleep, her head was on the chair while the rest of her body was on the floor. Josh looked back at Gabby and put his callused hands on the seat. "I'm too nervous to sleep." He sighed as he used one of his hands to rub his face. "About the interview?" Gabby asked rested her elbows on the same seat, a concerned look on her face. "Yeah.. It's a radio station we've never talked to, I'm just glad Tyler isn't." He admitted, a small smile on his lips. "I am too, does Kate know how you feel?" Gabby said nodding her head towards Kate. "Yeah, I just thought it would feel better to tell someone else too." He said grinning, his mocha eyes almost seemed to be smiling too. Gabby rolled her eyes. "How does Kate put up with how cheesy you are, and I thought Tyler was the cheesiest."

"I asked the same thing today don't worry."

The next morning arrived where everyone was awake and they had 4 hours left of driving. Kate was getting car sick and rather bored as she always seemed to shuffled every 3 minutes, Tyler seemed rather excited and was singing every 3 minutes. They had all the seats down and were laying on all the blankets in the trunk and were singing along with him. Tyler was playing his ukulele to the tune of 'Sweater Weather' since that was the only song Tyler knew that well from The Neighborhood, but he also knew that was one of Gabby's favorite band. He strummed while Gabby hummed to the song, a small smile on her face as she placed her head on his shoulder. "Hey can I give a request?" Kate asked quietly as she raised her head from Josh's shoulder and rubbed her eyes. "Why not." Tyler shrugged his shoulders, a small twinkle in his eyes. "You probably don't remember it that well, but my favorite has always been A Car, A Torch, A Death." A smile grew on her lips as she intwined her fingers with Josh's. Tyler put his back as he tried to remember what chords and the lyrics.

  The sound of the music was nice and almost soothing as Gabby listened to Tyler sing. Her brunette hair was pulled up into a bun as she planted a kiss on Tyler's cheek as he strummed the final note, a small glint of pink could be found on his tan cheeks. "How many more hours Mark?" Tyler yelled at his friend, Mark and Micheal were the drivers and would trade so the other could sleep. "About 45 minutes." He yelled back. "Thank god!" Kate yelled back as she threw herself on Josh's lap, a small smile on Josh's lips as he rubbed Kate's cheek and brushed her dirty blonde hair back onto his lap. "Are we allowed to visit you while you're interviewed?" Kate asked, rubbing her chin. Gabby knew what it was about since Josh told her the night before and went along with it. "We can talk about our proposal..." Gabby cooed to Tyler as she planted another kiss on his cheek. Josh shot a look at Tyler, as he shrugged his shoulders, Josh replying with the same action. "Fine, but you guys might only be able to watch from the back, unless they ask you to talk." Tyler said trying to hide how he badly wanted to have Gabby there with him. He was just excited to finally make it to the hotel and stretch and actually eat a real dinner rather than tacos and red bull.

  As they pulled into the hotel; Kate raced out of the car and began to stretch rather enthusiastically as she finally was able to walk again. Josh followed after her and surprised her by picking her up, they already were checked in and had their keys, Kate winked at Josh and Josh's cheeks turned a deep red.

"U-Uh Kate and I are going to go unpack."

"But you don't have your luggage!" Tyler yelled throwing his hands at it.

"That's ok!" Kate said back as she waved goodbye in Josh's arms.

   Gabby paused as she arrived at her and Tyler's room. She was back at another hotel, and that would happen for another year probably. Tyler unlocked the door as it swung open. "We have conjoined rooms with Josh and Kate." Tyler said giving out a immature chuckle as he pointed at the wall that separated the rooms. Gabby frowned as she understood what Tyler meant. "Wanna surprise them like they did?" Tyler asked as he clapped his hands together. Gabby was now smirking with him, she wanted to see how surprised they were, as pay back for surprising them. "Let's go." Gabby said as she grabbed his hand, Tyler put a finger to his lips. After what felt like a minute, Tyler slammed open the door.

  Disappointingly Kate and Josh were actually talking about their dreams. Yet Kate still jumped and whipped her head at Gabby and Tyler. "Stop slamming doors!" She said slamming her hands on the bed, Josh was laughing rather loudly as he fell on his back. "You guys thought we were being like you!" Josh said chuckling as he sat back up. Gabby frowned, she really wanted to yell at Kate. "What were you guys planning to do?" Tyler asked raising an eyebrow. Josh's cheeks turned a deep red, they weren't talking about normal dreams, they were talking about their sexual dreams. As Tyler realized what they were talking about. "You freaks!" He yelled as he clapped his hands. Josh shooed him and Gabby out as he wrapped his arms around Kate, a small grin on her face as she winked at Gabby.

Gabby couldn't believe the quiet girl she knew was acting this scandalous.. She walked back in her room with Tyler and threw herself on the bed.

"Is Josh going to propose to Kate? They've been dating as long as us.." She asked as she crossed her arms. Tyler gave out a deep breath put his hands up.

"Let's just say there really isn't a interview."
