You and Riker were about to take one of the biggest steps you could as a couple; buying a house. As much as you two loved sharing the Lynch love nest with Rydel and Ellington, it was time to start a new future with each other, and you both were excited to start looking for the place you would make new memories. You two decided you were going to stay in California, as you had just landed a nice job, and him being close to his family.
You guys met with your real estate agent for the third time, and the process was starting to frustrate the both of you. The two houses you guys thought was the one, was not, and the owners said no to every offer.
"I have one more house you two can look at." You followed her to a nice neighborhood near one of the many beaches nearby.
"This is nice." Riker said as you two walked out of the car, seeing the two floored home.
"It's a five bed, 3 bath, big basement, and it was redone a couple years ago. If you guys want to take a look go ahead, and if you need me, I'll be in the kitchen." She let you guys go and you took a walk around the house.
Something about the house felt different than the others. You could actually picture yourselves doing things in the house. You could imagine cooking in the huge kitchen, having a cute family room, making use of the giant bedroom, and so many other things.
"Babe! Come look at the basement!" Riker grabbed your hand and led you downstairs. It was a finished basement with a bar area, and a lot of room.
"Wow." You mouthed to yourself
"I can put the bar here, and make it into like a party space, to watch the Avs games and football!" He sounded like a little kid.
One more thing I want to look at." It was your turn to drag him, but this time it was to the backyard.
"Hey this is nice!" He said.
"We can put a hot tub on the deck, and maybe a pool in the back, and a fire pit." You closed your eyes and envisioned the many family parties you guys would host.
"Is this the one?" Riker asked.
"Is it for you?" You asked him
"It is, I can picture everything." This made you break out into a huge smile.
So can I." He embraced you in a huge hug.
"I think this is our new house. Come on, let's go let her know." You two walked back into the house to let the agent know that this was the place of your dreams, and this time it was, as you got the keys to the house a few weeks later. You and Riker were both excited and ready to have a place to call your own and make some memories.
