Chapter 9

Nick, "any word on Tina?"

Lisa, "No, there was like ten zombies on her...I don't know how she will ever make it back."

Nick, "She will make it back, I'm sure she will be back any minute."

Linda, "I hope so I'm not leaving till she gets back"

Travis puts his hand on her shoulder.

Travis, "She will be back"

an hour passes and Tina still does not return.

Sueann, "Tina wouldn't of wanted us to wait and get slaughtered one by one. She had plans and she wouldn't want us waiting."

Lisa, "I hate to admit it but Sueann is right."

Linda, "We are not leaving her!"

Nick, "We can't it isn't right!"

Travis, "Majority rules we need to go it's what she would of wanted."

Linda starts to cry.

Linda, "Okay..."

Linda and Lisa remove the boards from the door. The guys run back and forth moving the supplies to the truck.

Travis, "Okay truck is fully loaded, we need to be fast and run. Nick, Linda, and Kristy in the truck. Lisa, Sueann, and me in the car. Nick your going to need to drive Linda won't be able to right now."

Nick, "Everyone have their cell phones and chargers?"

They all shake their heads yes.

Travis, "On the count of three....1...2...3!"

They all run out to their vehicles and starts driving away. Linda notices someone running towards them in the distance.

Linda, "Pull up beside them and stop"

Linda taps Nicks arm. Nick stops the truck.

Linda, "It's Tina!"

Linda opens the door and Tina jumps in.

Tina, "Man am I happy to see you guys!"

Linda hugs Tina tight and they kiss.

Linda, "I love you Tina."

Tina, "I love you Linda."

Nick, "Are you okay?"

Tina, "Yeah, hurt my leg a little probably just bruised."

As they turn the corner to the freeway they see what was left of their car in flames.

Nick, "Did you do that sis?"

Tina, "Yeah, took some of those S.O.B's out with it."

They all laugh as a cell went off. It was Travis so both cars put their phones on speaker.

Travis, "Didn't our parents ever tell you not to pick up hitchhikers?"

Nick, "Yeah but i felt bad for this one."

Tina, "HaHaHa guys."

Travis, "Nice to hear from you sis."

Lisa, "how did you make it? There were like ten zombies or so."

Tina, "I drove the car to that spot, broke into someones house to find some chemicals, found an empty bottle glass bottle, a rag to make a bomb like thing. Then I started the car again, put a brick I found on the gas pedal. I lite the rag and threw it at the car, it caught a lot of them on fire. The next thing i did was ran in and out of houses dodging zombies till i made it to the house near where you guys found me. I stopped there for a breather but there were three zombies in there, I shot two of them in the head and swung my bat and killed the other. more started following and i was out of bullets so i went to run when you guys pulled up.... I was so scared."

Tina hugged Linda again.

Nick, "Wouldn't you know Travis had perfect timing for once."

Travis, "Hahaha, I have perfect timing every once in a while."

Tina, "I'm just glad to be here and alive, it was scary and too close of a call."

Linda, "Yeah it was."

Sueann, "What do we do now?"

Tina, "Try and find a safe place , turn on the radio to see if we can hear anything useful and keep the phone lines open."

Travis, "Got it"

Both cars hung up their phones.
