Staring out across the way

The ocean sparkling brightly

People stand by, watching the waves

This happens day after day

These salt waves evaporate nightly

But is seems as if we live in caves

The salt fills the air, it's safe here

But what about what's clean

Something we can drink

What we need begins to disappear

We can't grow anything green

We are on the brink

Of self destruction

Drought killing our plants

Floods drowning innocents

Our constant rise reproduction

Maybe we should start trusting rain chants

We can fix this though with scientific diligence

Reserving what we have left

Purifying, and making what we don't

We can save ourselves

From our freshwater theft

From the earth, it's not what we bought

Humans need to get off their high shelves

Don't give up and just pursue

Depend on what we've got

And don't pollute

Don't make species die and be blue

It doesn't really take a lot

It's time, together, we put down the boot
