"I'm not going."

"You are going to this therapy session and that is final."

"I don't see why I need it though. I'm fine," Luke lied.

That was something Luke got very good at over the past year - lying and hiding his feelings.

"You're clearly not fine, Luke. I want to help you but you won't let me in. You won't let anyone in. This is for your own good. You need it," Calum told him.

Luke rolled his eyes and stayed silent throughout the entire car ride to the office.

"Hemmings, Lucas?"

"Go," Calum mumbled, gesturing for Luke to get up from the waiting room chairs and walk into a place that would hopefully help him.

Calum glared at Luke until he finally left the waiting room with a slightly angry look on his face.

He didn't want to be here. He didn't think it was going to work. If he couldn't even talk to his best friend about whatever was going on in his head, he certainly wouldn't talk to a random stranger, but he felt like he was forced to do so.

He saw a tall woman with short, light blonde hair.

"You must be Lucas. I'm Jenna," she said, reaching her hand out to shake his.

"Luke."

"Sorry. Have a seat, Luke," Jenna said, pointing to the chair on the other side of the room.

"How are you?"

It was probably one of the simplest questions anyone could ask another person. To Luke, it was one of the hardest questions to answer. He either lied or just didn't answer at all. Time passed by until he finally said something.

"Fine," he mumbled, staring at the ground.

"I can tell you're lying," Jenna said.

"Well, that didn't work. What am I supposed to say now?" Luke thought to himself.

"Tell me the truth."

"I guess I have no other choice," Luke said, sighing.

"I'm not saying that you have no other choice. I know this is your first session and you may not be comfortable telling personal things to someone you just met, but I can't help you if you don't tell me what's going on," Jenna told him.

He knew she was right, but there was something in the back of his mind that made him want to just ignore it because he felt like it wouldn't work.

"I don't want help. I don't need help. I don't even want to be in this room. My friend forced me to go here because he thinks it should help me. Nothing has helped me and I doubt this will make any sort of difference," Luke said angrily before getting up from his seat.

"You already started opening up. You just confessed that nothing has helped so far."

Luke sighed, going back to his seat.

"Are you upset at your friend?" Jenna asked.

Luke didn't really know how to answer. He was upset at Calum, and he knew there is no way he could tell a lie in here.

"I guess... sort of," Luke admitted.

"You shouldn't be. He wants to help you. He clearly cares about you. Pushing him away won't make things any better," Jenna told him.

He knew Calum wanted to help.

"I know that. I know he wants to help. It just doesn't work. It just seems kind of pointless, I guess," Luke explained.

Jenna took out a pen and started writing down what Luke was admitting. she turned around and looked at the clock.

"Time's up for this session. We'll set up another appointment for next week."

Luke nodded and left the room.

He seemed a bit eager to leave, but at the same time he wasn't. Maybe this would help him.

He saw Calum and the two of them quickly walked outside.

"How was it?" Calum asked.

"Fine," Luke quickly answered.

"Did you talk about-"

"No. I'm not telling her about that yet. I don't want to talk about her," Luke said sternly, interrupting Calum

"What did you do that whole session?" Calum asked, rolling his eyes.

"How nothing has helped me," Luke answered honestly.

"I think this really can help you," Calum told him. "and you will have to tell her eventually."

"I know," Luke said, looking down.

He doubted it would work, but he was willing to give it another try.
