Chapter one.
Beginning to an end.

It was December 23rd , in my fourth year living in LA. I decided to go back to London this christmas. Just staying for christmas turned into staying for three weeks. I parked my car in front of Zoe's house as she was having a dinner party and insisted i come. In my four years away and living in america i hadn't really seen anybody except Zoe, Alfie and Louise. I sighed looking down at my stupid christmas jumper my grandma made for me and then looked over at my boyfriend Kian who smiled softly squeezing my shoulder slightly.

"Mommy why are we not going in yet!" James my four year old son squealed from the back seat. I chuckled looking behind me too see him in a similar jumper to me. His brown eyes sparkling as they always did. James had an American accent, as he has lived there all his life. Not many people even knew he existed as i kept him off social media. My youtube channel stands at sixteen million subscribers, after i took a long break and had a baby in Manchester, i up and left for America wanting a get away. My viewers never knew about James as i never took him to events or put him in videos, i was waiting for him to be old enough to agree if he wanted to be put in the limelight or not. 

In that time i met my boyfriend of two years Kian Lawley an American youtuber. James called Kian dad a lot as Kian basically raised him with me, and James never knew his real father Kian was the next best thing. And i was happy with that. We all were.

"Careful there kiddo" Kian laughed getting out of the car and helping James out. The snow fell slowly and calmly as the street lamps lit up the street. I grabbed the bag of presents for Melanie Zoe and Alfies daughter, and Darcy as we only buy for the children now. They had never met Kian as he didn't come to London with me and James last year.

"Mom why can't i stay and play in the snow?" James asked and me and Kian grabbed one of his hands each and walked up to the door pressing the doorbell.

"Because it's too cold" I smiled down at him as he pouted back at me, he was probably the most talkative four year old i've ever met. The door shortly opened revealing Zoe in a red dress. She squealed hugging me tightly. I hugged back feeling how much i had missed my old friends.

"Come on in! Everyone is in the lounge" She smiled taking the bag of presents and letting us in. The house was over decorated as it was every year at Zoe's.

"I'm Zoe, you must be Kian" She smiled hugging him. I picked up James walking into the lounge where everyone was standing around talking and drinking champagne. Classic christmas songs were playing and people noticed me right away.

"Violet!" Louise shouted pushing through the people and hugging me, sandwiching James between us. I laughed as she squealed and i felt Darcy hugging my legs.

"Can i go play with Darcy mom?" James asked and i nodded putting him down, they ran off somewhere and Kian came over to me shortly putting a hand on my back.

"Lou, this is Kian, Kian this is Louise one of my best friends" I smiled at them both, Louise shook his hand then went to show Kian where the drinks were, that's when i was engulfed in yet another hug. By two people. Caspar and Joe who were wearing matching jumpers hugged me tightly.

"Guys!" I squealed as they pulled away. They both started to ramble on about things they had been up too and i smiled listening, my thoughts were distracted when Kian came back over with our drinks. I introduced them to each other then too a lot of my other friends and before i knew it about twenty of us were sat around a huge dining table full of food. There was three empty seats and honestly i think we all knew who they were for, well two of the seats anyway.

"Do you want mash James?" I asked as he sat next to me on a pile of cushions so he could reach the table, he nodded and i put some on his plate then passing it to Alfie who was sat next to me. Half way through the dinner the doorbell rang and Zoe jumped up clapping her hands and running out.

"I'm going to get some napkins for James, he has more food on his face than in his tummy" I chuckled giving Kian a quick kiss before getting up and walking into the kitchen. I heard talking from the dining room as i got some napkins and walked back in.

However the room fell silent and everybody looked at me as if i was holding a dead animal or something. I suddenly realised why the tension was here. I looked at the other door to see the people i had been fearing to see for almost five years now.

"Hi" Phil said awkwardly, Dan was holding hands with a blonde girl i had never seen before and he looked stunned. I returned a mumble of hello and sat down in my chair. Then the talking erupted again. This was the first time any of us had seen each other in four years and the tension was clear, The whole room was silent and not a comfortable one. Dan and me stared at each other for a good ten seconds before i looked away. 

"What the hell was that all about?" Kian whispered to me, i shook my head not wanting to talk about it. The whole way through the meal i kept catching glimpses of Dan looking at me. It made me uncomfortable and James seemed to notice something.

"Mommy, That man over there kept looking at me," He giggled and i nodded not wanting to answer him. My christmas spirit had gone into a downwards spiral and i couldn't wait to leave this place, as the sick feeling in my stomach grew more and more. 

"So me and Dan are getting married in June! Isn't that great! I won't leave him engaged like somebody else did" The blonde exclaimed excitedly obviously talking about me. Dan snorted a fake laughter as some others did. I looked up and Zoe was frowning at the blonde as well as Louise was.

I ignored the comment just brushing it off, i was here for my friends. Not Dan and his new girlfriend. I couldn't care less about what he's doing with his life. Joe was sitting across from me as i looked up he rolled his eyes then mocking what the girl was saying earning a laugh from me.

Considering it had been so long since me and Dan were engaged i didn't know why she bothered making that comment, I no longer even had feelings towards Dan and he probably moved on too. But he really didn't seem keen on the blonde woman laughing at her own jokes. 

I could tell he was really uncomfortable, I knew that face he does when he isn't okay with something. I got up after finishing my food and told Kian i was going outside for some air. Zoe gave me a polite nod before i left the room. I walked outside into the snow getting a cigarette from my car and lighting it then, going back to the front garden where i leaned back on the wall letting out a big sigh.

"You smoke now V?" A familiar voice said. Somebody i didn't expect to be talking to tonight.
