CHAPTER 2 : WORRIED ABOUT MY FUTURE

"I was just working on my homework, sorry for not paying attention in the class "I lied to him. By the look of his face I can tell he isn't buying it.

"Actually I wanted to talk about your future, you see council has planned a meeting tonight in which they going to discuss about amendments of rules, so I want you to be there with your family"

I don't get it, how my future is related to some meeting of elders "What kind of amendments they are planning to do" I know for sure he will have some idea, professor ralph was a senate before he lost his left hand in a battle between banished saptanites and us. He got control over plants which is earth element and also sense the emotions of a person from auroras which is y we cannot lie to him, so I get saved from being bullied by others. He is one of favourite's for council members and most of us think he is eligible for becoming one of them. He has got lots of knowledge regarding humans and us, that's y he is my favourite teacher.

"They are going to strip off the authority of college board to issues graduate degrees, and also they are planning to make compulsory that saptanites will marry according to council pick, they are others subjects but these are the ones which effect's. your future" and started laughing on my face because my face expression. I would have commented on carefree ralph standing in front of me right now, if I didn't found out my future is in uncertainty. Ralph found his composure and simply said "sorry".

"PROFESSOR YOU ARE SAYING THAT I AM NOT GOING GRADUATE EVER" I yelled at him but controlled my anger "So all this hard work and bulling from other's is for nothing and I am never going to go outside meet my grandpa & ma and adopt into human world". I felt like stupid to even dream about outer world, I don't say that i hate being here that doesn't mean I love it either I just want to be free from rules and explore myself for few years, I don't want to spend my entire life behind books or spending time to find solutions for septanites and die without enjoying it, I believe we have one life so we need to live it like no tomorrow and should not have any regret while dying.

"You will graduate because council is going to issue degrees from here onwards but I am not sure about rankers joining into human world" and stared my face for few minutes as he was finding answers for his unquestioned ones "You are not bothered about life partner rule may I ask you why".

Because I know no idiot from high rankers will marry me, if he is from commoner or research ranker my family will never accept him and I don't want someone in my life for sure. "I never gave much thought about life partner as it is not in my priority list, so they are going to amend the rule such a way that I cannot join human world" I asked him little harshly as if it is his fault.

"One should learn from you how to cut off the subject, I honestly don't know how they are going to change the rule that's why I am asking you to join the meeting so you can find out yourself nadia"

"Are you going be there ...........in the meeting"

"Yes, and I going to help you in any kind of situation until u are not wrong nadia, now go have some lunch and prepare yourself for the meeting" with that he just gave me a wink and left.

Ralph may be professor in the class but outside he is my mentor who helps me tackle the hard situation on my own. He is 42 years, 5 years back he lost his left hand and wife in banishers attack after that he took retirement against council wishes and started teaching us. He never used artificial hand no matter how many times papa forced him to.

I started walking towards lockers to dump my bag and pick up my kitchen kit because today is Saturday and every Saturday after lunch we have club activities which help us to adopt outer world. Even club activities are validated (yippee), every year we need to do 4 club activities i.e.... each term one activity this term it's cooking for me, we can pick which one we want to do and I always make sure that vinni and mine are same.

Now I am standing in line for lunch. I picked burger, fires, salad, apple for me n vinni and started walking to corner where empty tables are there suddenly my lunch tray went up in air and dumped entire things on me and everyone started laughing, clicking photos, some are ignoring the scene completely. I know who did this the one and only camerson my younger sister luna's boyfriend and commander ranker in my class.

"Seriously ASSHOLE, you wasted your one shot of the day on me" yes one shot, every ranker gets to use their power only once other than classroom. When we use second time the watch automatically sends distress signal to commander n attackers so they can reach our spot to help. We should not mess with them because we can get red mark on our record permanently but fortunately or unfortunately the watch does not work on me because both of my powers cannot be projected so watch does not detect it.

"Always worth to mess with you nadia, you won't run and complain to your papa because ur sister is my mate besides you don't want to show yourself weak in front of ur father do you" with smirk on his face.

"Oh I think you're the one who is weak camerson because I can beat you in any kind of physical confrontation, so to cover it up your using powers after all on a girl lesser rank, hmmm how commanding of you, I wonder what your father thinks of you" this time his smirk turn in to frown, I decided to ignore him it's waste of time so once again I picked my lunch and making my way to table.

Then suddenly I stepped on to ice floor and fell on the ground on my stomach, that's not it I felt is sharp pain on my back which means I am injured, I trying to get up with much difficulty that is when I realised my entire back body is stabbed by sharp objects.

"This is for messing with my mate and your mother messing with our father bitch" luna said it with such venom I really felt like killing her right now.

"Never mess with us when we are in the school, your such a disgrace to our family I don't know what papa sees in you, you are weak and pathetic women. Anyways papa told me to inform you that we are having dinner meeting with council at 7 pm and pick your best white dress. Take this and suit yourself nadia" placed a bag on the table with that my sister mahala with luna and camerson left me not even bother to take those forks and knives off my body as they know I cannot heal until they take it off.

After they left I tired take those bloody thing from my legs as they are not allowing it to heal but to my luck my friends vinni, neelofar, nishafar found me. Nishfar with the help of her power (she can control wind current) pulled entire sharp objects and within 10 seconds my wounds are healed because of my healing power but my clothes were ruined. I am going to make them pay for what they have done to me. I managed to make a plan but I don't want to share with my friends.

When we are in changing room, vinni is going on and on about how she is going kill my sister's n camerson before that how she is going to torture them. To make her cool down I started asking neelofar about her date with aiden, I know its hurtful for me to listen as aiden is my crush since I am 16. My plan worked vinni took too much interest in their date.

After lunch, all four of us had fun in cooking club because we already know cooking, we started messing up with others cooking items so no one in the class gets perfect dish no even us because we even messed each other items without each other's knowledge. Vinni made sure neelofar to put empty pressure cooker on stove which result in blowing up the entire place.

Today is Saturday we all need to use our bikes because 4 wheelers are not allowed. I am on my way to home, which is weird to call it one because out of my entire family only papa n Anthony my brother supports me rest all hates me. I do know their reason to hate me and it is valid, if I am in their position I would support their hatred because I broke their peaceful family, brought down their family image and most importantly I am an outsider because I am born out of marriage between human and saptanite.

This gives me more reason to make sure council agree to my graduation as per college board terms because I need to find a place where I can atleast feel safe and don't get to be always second choices, people don't judge me by my power or spices, where I am not an outsider or hybrid and can call my HOME...........
