"Say cheese!" Megan yelled half-heartedly as she held the camera to take a picture of Michael and a young female fan of 10 years old.
Michael's handsome face split into an adorable childish grin as he wrapped an arm around the girl for the photo, while the blonde girl smiled with a dreamy look in her eyes.
I looked like that too when I first took a picture with him, Megan thought wistfully, a small smile on her face at the cute sight in front of her.
The girl thanked her with a perky voice before rushing off to join her mother who was waiting patiently next to the baggage claim.
Michael ran to her side, not wanting to leave his girlfriend's side. They had been together for 5 years, and coincidentally, they had a 5-year gap between them. They had a slow, sweet, and sure relationship, as steady as ever, trying to follow the stereotypes of relationships around the world.
That is, unless you decide to throw in the fact that he was a now-retired Olympic champion.
As soon as the Rio Olympics were over, Michael had packed his bag with only one thought: to travel the world with his stunning girlfriend. And of course, with his adorable puppy dog face (even if it was from a laptop screen through Skype), Megan couldn't refuse. Besides, she had always wanted to go to different places.
Throughout the past 4 weeks, they had been to Paris, Madrid, Cairo, Venice, Honululu, Marakesh, Tokyo, London, and now, they were currently at the New York airport, having just arrived 10 minutes ago.
Michael threw an arm lazily around her waist, and kissed the smooth chocolate skin at the nape of her neck.
"Let's have a cup of coffee, and go sight seeing, eh?" He suggested, a sweet smile on his gentle face.
Megan bit her lip.
Ever since they had started on this 'Post Olympics Tour', they didn't get any time alone. They rarely kissed, or even held hands. Forget about any intimate moments. She felt as if they were growing apart, and was starting to get stressed out, after all, she didn't want their beautiful simple relationship to end. She felt as if she was walking on a tightrope; one clumsy move and everything would fall apart.
However, when she came face to face with his soul-shaking honey orbs, she couldn't help but shrug nonchalantly and give him half a smile.
Michael was definitely on top of the world. After finishing off the most successful athletic career in history with a bang, he felt the need to explore the world. He thought that if he did so with Megan, it would strengthen their relationship through their experience. He was living his life with such a fast pace, he barely had time to check on her.
This trip was probably going to be the end of their relationship.
However, he had time to remember that she hadn't answered his question.
"Hey, Meg?"
She hummed as she lifted her red suitcase from the conveyor belt.
He shuffled on his feet, as he eyed the belt for his brown suitcase.
"I was wondering if you've finally made a decision," he paused, "It's been a week, y'know."
He hefted his suitcase and placed it next to Meg's on their trolley, and started rolling it away as she sighed heavily.
She was hoping that he wouldn't bring it up.
"Michael, look, it's difficult," she rubbed her temples, her head already throbbing from the unleashed stress, "I've lived in Austin my whole damn life, you can' trust expect me to drop it all to move in with you in Arizona!" she said exasperatedly.
