The fate of Middle Earth laid in my hands. How I wished I had never left the arms of my father. Remembering all the things we did together and then leaving him felt guilty. Why, oh, why had I left?
Making sure that Middle Earth was going to be safe for the sake of what I had done was definitely my priority. However, if I had already promised Edna that I would agree with whatever she had in mind, what power did I hold?
I wanted to slam my head on a wall, real hard. Edna interrupted my thoughts as she spoke to her henchmen. "Take her out and keep her in the inner cell."
All for agreeing and I'm going to a cell. A-mazing. As Edna snapped her fingers, the restrains unravelled themselves. Could I have run for my life then? Simple answer. No.
Why? As soon as that happened, I was rushed out into a dark corridor passing empty cells. The place soon dawned upon me as a house of horror, number one on my list actually.
Once we arrived at the cell, I was handcuffed and kept in that dark area. No wonder they called it the 'inner' cell. I stayed there for what seemed like a hundred years, with only cuffs on my hands after they had locked the metal door.
If I hadn't been raised as a princess, I could have been swearing for the rest of the days I was to be locked up in here. I set my eyes on the metal door and wondered, ''How long had I been in here?''
I looked through the bars at the top of the door. The men for the current shift must have left for a break since there were two new men I had never seen before, probably new recruits.
"Hello? Could you please tell me how many days I've been in here?"
No response. I moped around the cell and eventually sat down, my back leaned against the wall. The door rattled. I stood up and quickly made my way to see what had happened.
Both men were on the ground and a familiar-looking woman held a key in her hand, letting a smile of satisfaction creep up to her lips. I gasped, too surprised for words. As she turned the key into the lock, the door opened and I promptly threw myself at her.
"Layla! Thank you!"
Before I could break out in tears, Layla spoke in a serious tone, "Hurry, your escape will soon be discovered." She held my hand and led me through the corridor.
I kept my eyes open as we headed for our destination. It certainly did not take long for them to find out about my escape. Edna's men filed in various directions, a few in our way.
They were closing in. We swerved right and finally, out the back door. Two horses took me by surprise. I mounted onto my own while Layla went for the other. Before we knew it, we were out the gate already.
As the sound of galloping and shouting filled my ears, I thought about everything that had happened. It was just too much for me to take in.
