I woke at the splash of ice cold water. In front of me was a startling scene. Edna. Instead of comfort, her kind-hearted gaze pierced my soul and there was much silence, until...

''You're finally awake. I was so worried that the drug I had put into your drink would make you sleep forever," she said with sympathetic blue eyes.

''You!'' which came out as ''Mmphf!''

She called one of the men I had seen earlier and whispered something into his ear. He rushed towards me and untied my gag. My instant thought was to shout for help but I knew better this time.

''You are so innocent, yet so guilty. I admire your courage," she said as she pulled over a chair and sat down.

What was she talking about? What did she mean by that? I was in a daze. ''What do you want from me?''

''Oh, it's simple. You and I have a relation," she uttered. "And you have the strength that I desire. You were once my sworn enemy, since the day of your birth. But now, that will all change."

A relation! Was this a dream? This couldn't be true. I must have been in a trance. Her words very much bothered me. Why was I her sworn enemy? How were we related? Does she speak of the truth?

I had to stop. I wasn't here to ask questions or talk to someone like Edna. I had to find a way to get out of this horrible place.

"Believe me. We are sisters. I bet your father didn't tell you that." I had a sister? Well, if she was trying to get something out of me, I wasn't going to let her.

"I don't trust you."

"Don't let me do it the hard way. If you weren't my sister, I would have had you killed the moment you said you didn't trust me."

What was I going to do now? Let her do it the easy way? No, I wasn't going to let her have whatever information she was wanting now.

Even so, what could I do? It wouldn't be that easy to escape, especially with the two rather strong men guarding the door. If she wanted information from me, I would have to get information from her first. I hoped it wouldn't be too difficult.

"Before anything else, I would like to ask a question."

"What is it?"

"If you really are my sister, why haven't I seen you in the castle since you should of royalty too?"

"Sigh... I knew he wouldn't tell you," she sighed again. "The day of my birth was a day of great rejoicing. Father ordered for a great banquet to celebrate my birth. He loved me so much and cared for my every need.

''For my eighth birthday, he proclaimed a feast to celebrate it but six days before the feast, you were born. He grew to love you so much that I seemed invisible to him. Even though I knew he wasn't the father I had before, I was certain Mother still loved me the same, maybe more than you."

Deep inside me protested. My mother loved me, alright. I just wasn't there to witness it. I couldn't think about it anymore; I had no intention to make a fool of myself

"So because Mother loved me more and I loathed you, he banished us from the castle and married another woman. I guess you should know who that is."

"Yes, I do but I don't want to talk about this. I know Mother loved us the same." However, if she had loved us both equally, why would she be banished too?

"Don't worry, I won't bring up the subject again. I just need you to cooperate with me," she bent down from her chair to look me in the face, "and I'll allow you to have your liberty back."

What did she want? Cooperate with her to do what? I had to get out of this place before she forced me to do what she wanted. But how?

 But how?
