After my fight with Bella I left the hospital.
She was right to kick me out.
There was our poor defenceless baby girl lying in a glass box and all I could think about was me and how this affected me.
I was a father now I couldn't think like that I had to be strong. I had to think of others and not just myself.
I'm so stupid.
Yes you are.
Thanks man
Just letting you know.
I know.
I went to the office and picked up some files from the last couple of weeks. Bella wasn't going to let me back into the room tonight so I was just going to hang out here.
I was looking for my stapler when I saw something in my drawer. I pulled out the small velvet box out of the drawer and opened it in confusion.
It was my grandmother's engagement ring, she had left it to me telling me I was to give it to the girl I knew I was going to spend the rest of my life with. But why was it in my desk?
"Mrs. Cope" I yelled out of my office.
"Shouldn't you be at the hospital?" she asked coming and handing me a form to sign. I scrawled my signature on it.
"I should but Bella kicked me out." I said signing more forms. Where she found these things I had no clue.
In fairness though all I had to ever do was sign the form and she took care of it all.
"How is the little one?" she asked.
"She's a little fighter, stubborn as her mother." I said reaching into my pocket and pulling my phone out and showing her the picture of Annabelle on it.
"She's precious Edward. What's her name again?"
"Annabelle" I said
"Cullen or Swan?"
"Cullen" I said when I remembered the ring. "Why is this in my desk?" I asked lifting up the box.
"The bank in Chicago where that was being held closed down so when they called I told them to send it here and I put it in your desk until there was a time I could bring it to the bank and put it in the safe." She said handing me back my phone. "If you want I can bring it down now." She added.
"Um..." I said looking at the ring.
I should put it into storage right? It was way too soon to even think about bringing this up.
Or was it?
We weren't the most typical couple now were we?
"Mr. Cullen?" Mrs. Cope said.
"I'm sorry what?" I asked.
"I was just saying if you want me to bring it now the bank is going to close in the next couple of minutes so..."
"You know what if you bring it now it's just going to be left out and probably lost. You know banks." I said. "I'll just keep it here." I told her.
"Okay then." She said with a smirk on her face.
I spun my chair around to the window and held the ring box open in front of me.
She's probably tell you no.
Probably but I want to ask.
Should I?
Probably not
