Welcome to LA,
I mean, not LA,
But, South Central, LA,
You know, "the hood?"
"The ghetto?"
Where they "broke?"You see, it's the motherland,
No, I ain't talkin' 'bout Africa,
I'm talkin' 'bout where Normandie and Imperial meet,
You know, that hood street?
With liquor stores on every corner?
Gangbangers and long shorts?Kids hang out at the Helen Keller park,
The teenagers chill at Jesse Owens for fights,
A Dulan's replaces the Bertha's soul food place that once stood,
You know they started gentrifyin' the hood,But, it's still South Central,
Just not the original,
Welcome to LA,
I hope you stay safe.***
