Liam breaks his wrist. Zayn becomes overprotective

Zayn was upset
Liam had fallen, due to management, and broken his wrist
Now here they were, waiting in a hospital, to see if Liam was okay
"Liam Payne" a doctor called out. All four of the boys immediatley ran to him
"Is Liam okay?" Niall asked frantically
"Mr. Payne is fine. He's going to have to be in a cast for about two months due to the severity of the break" Zayn cringed at the thought of his baby being in pain, because despite the fact Liam was big and tough and manly, the poor boy had gone through way too much pain in his life
"Can we see him?" Harry asked
"Yes you can see him. I must explain a few things forst though" the doctor explained amd we all nodded
"We suggest bed rest for about 3 or 4 days. He really needs to rest and due to the amount of pain he was in when he got here I don't think he'll protest too much" the boys nodded, telling him to go on
"He might need pain medicine. We did have to take him into surgery to put a stablizing rod in"
"Can we take him home today"
"Yes you can. We gave him some painkillers but he'll be in a lot of pain tomorrow. Just give him some medicine and keep him relaxed and calm. Make sure he eats too. You may have to help him a bit the first few days, but I can assure you he'll be fine"
"Okay follow me if your ready to see him" everyone followed

The soght in Liam's room was absolutley heartbreaking
He was in his clothes from earlier, barely conscious
"He'll need plenty of rest. Take care of him"
"Can we take him home?"
"Yes. Go ahead"

It wasn't easy to get Liam to the car
He could barely walk and was falling asleep standing due to the painkillers
When they did get him in the car Harry drove and Liam sat next to Zayn
Liam tried really hard to keep himself awake
He was nodding off and Zayn thought it was adorable
His eyes were drooping and his head bobbing, but snapping up as soon as caught himself
Zayn really wanted to tell Liam to just sleep, but he knew that Liam would be extremely difficult to wake up
Luckily none of the other boys were paying attention because Zayn knew that Liam would be embarrassed if the boys saw him like this
He continued his routine for the next 20 minutes

Liam's eyes were barely open when they got to his flat
They managed to get him there before his collapsed on the couch, falling asleep almost immediately
"You guys can go. I'm staying with him tonight" Zayn said once he was sure Liam was asleep
"We know Zayn, call if you need us"

Zayn didn't sleep a lot
He kept checking on his boyfriend, hoping he wasn't awake or in any pain
10:00 is when he decided he wasn't sleeping anymore
5 minutes later Liam started to stir
When he heard Liam moan in pain, he was immediately on his feet getting pain medicine
Liam swallowed the pill and asked Zayn to cuddle with him
"I have to make you some food so the medicine doesn't make you sick but I promise we'll cuddle while we eat" was Zayn's reply
He just grabbed two granola bars, knowing Liam didn't have a big appetite right now
Liam cuddled into Zayn, almost on top of him, seeking comfort from the pain
Zayn hated seeing Liam in pain but knew there wasn't anything he could do

Liam and Zayn cuddled a lot over the next week, Liam claiming it made the pain better, but Zayn didn't mind
2 weeks later Liam felt a lot better and was up to going to rehearsals, promising Zayn he would take it easy and not just around
The boys were ecstatic to find out they were seeing Liam and almost tackled him, and would have if Zayn hadn't shouted at them
Liam had to stop about halfway through but the boys were fine with that, just knowing that Liam was okay

They all got used to the blue cast on Liam's arm, even Liam
But that didn't mean that the day he got it off wasn't the happiest day of his life
He had to wear a brace for another week, but he was okay with that
But the next week when he was told he could take the brace off, he was so happy he could finally move his hand around
Zayn, however was upset that Liam didn't need him as much now, he could do things for himself
"Zayn you okay" Liam asked later that night
"Yeah, just- it's stupid"
"If it was stupid you wouldn't be upset" he hated when Liam had a point
"You don't need me as much now. I've grown attached to doing things for you"
"Zayn I still need you, believe it or not"
"Why? you can do everything for yourself again now"
"I can still make you do things for me if it would make you feel better"
"Please do that. It really would make me feel better"
"Okay Zayn"
