It was well known to the boys that Liam sometimes had trouble sleeping
Excitement, stress, and anxiety all being factors of his insomnia
No one really knew how much it affected the boy until Zayn and Liam started dating
Zayn always saying he wished he could help him until he figured out how

Liam loved Zayn's voice
It always relaxed him when he felt stressed
So one night, while Liam was attempting to fall asleep, he was surprised when Zayn wrapped his arms around the boy and started to hum
Zayn felt Liam's body relax slowly before he went limp, fast asleep in Zayn's arms
Zayn smiled at his sleeping boyfriend's figure, before kissing his head, and going to sleep himself

Liam stressed out about a lot of things, messing up at a concert would always be one of those things
So when his voice cracked in the middle if his solo, he almost sent himself into a panic attack worrying that someone would be upset
Later that night, while sat on a hotel bed with Zayn, he started to freak out
Zayn saw this and quickly tried to sooth the boy
"Hey it's alright, okay? Why don't we go to sleep yeah?"
Zayn pulled Liam into his chest, running his fingers through the younger boys hair
'This is the start of something of something beautiful, this is the start of something new'
As Zayn sang to Liam in a quiet voice, he felt the boy start to relax
'You are the one to make me loose it all'
Liam's breathing got slower as he struggled to keep his eyes open, Zayn's voice putting him to sleep quickly

It was then that Liam dropped off, soft snores escaping his slightly parted lips
Zayn watched Liam for a moment, admiring how young and small he looked in Zayn's arms
He kissed Liam on the cheek, something he always had to do in order to sleep himself, and laid down, breathing steadily until he fell asleep to the soft snores of the younger boy on his chest

They all knew what came with the amount of fame they had
The pros outweighed the cons, but it was still hard to Liam to deal with hate
He knew how to hide the hurt from everyone
Everyone but Zayn
So when Liam started to receive really bad hate, Zayn was right next to him
He found it hard to sleep one night, all the nasty comments he had received that night rushing through his head
Zayn realized that the boys was struggling to sleep and immediately took action
"Let's go get some hot chocolate" Zayn had offered, knowing that it made his boyfriend sleepy
They went to the small microwave in their room, heating up two mugs of milk
They sat back down on their bed with their drinks, slowly sipping them, Liam's eyes already getting heavier
'I should ink my skin with your name'
Liam's eyes were now incredibly heavy, barley open, but trying not to close, wanting to hear his boyfriends voice
'Take my passport out again and just replace it'
Seeing that Liam was about to spill his drink, Zayn put it on the nightstand and pulled Liam onto his chest
'Cause maybe you're lovable, maybe you're my snowflake'
Liam was now asleep, his hand fisting his boyfriends t-shirt
Zayn smiled, knowing his boyfriend felt safe

Zayn watched as Liam stared at the small white pill on his nightstand as if it were some evil creature
It had been suggested that Liam try sleeping pills for his insomnia, and he wasn't very happy about it
"I'm too scared to take them Zayn"
"I'm right beside you the whole time. You'll be just fine. I'll even sing to you to help you fall asleep faster"
Liam had held on to Zayn's hand while he swallowed the pill, trying to make sure Zayn was there
Zayn then helped Liam change into something comfier, the pill kicking in while Zayn pulled Liam's shirt over his head
Zayn would be lying if he said that his boyfriend didn't look unhealthy at that moment, his eyes not all the way open, head falling to the side as he attempted to sit upright
Zayn helped Liam stand, Liam's head going to Zayn's neck, almost asleep standing while Zayn pulled back the duvet so they could get under it
Zayn laid down and Liam fell on top of him, eyes closed, slurring out the word 'sing'
Zayn quickly decided on a song, knowing Liam would fall asleep any second now
'Im gonna pick up the pieces and build a Lego house'
And Zayn was right, Liam had fallen asleep before Zayn was done singing the first line
Zayn kissed Liam's cheek, hoping that the pill would work for him

"You're pill is on the nightstand with a glass of water. Are you sure you don't want me to stay"
Zayn had agreed to go out with Louis, Liam not wanting to as the sleeping pill was still making him feel tired and sluggish most of the time
"I'm fine. Go have fun"
Zayn kissed Liam's cheek before rushing out the door to Louis' car

Zayn came back about two hours later, not expecting what he saw
The lights were on, movie credits still on the screen of their TV, Liam asleep cuddling with Zayn's favorite jumper, the little white pill laying untouched on the nightstand
Zayn quickly changed his clothes, crawling into bed with Liam, attempting to pull the jumper from his sleeping lovers tight grip
"Zayn?" Liam mumbled
"Shhh go back to sleep love"
And Liam listened, curling up against Zayn, and falling back to sleep quickly
