Weeks Later:
After what happened at the game, everyone around me was on high alert. Cara made it so every time I was out somewhere, even if I was with JJ, I had to have a bodyguard with me at all times until things began to calm down. She even decided to add an extra member to our security team. We interviewed dozens of people until we went with Carter, a former Navy Seal and kind of looked like Elliott Stabler from Law & Order: SVU.
To make things even more fun, for the time being, instead of going down field during warm-ups with the rest of the wives, I was given my very own suite box to watch the game from. I kept insisting that they were overreacting, but until things died down, I had to suck it up and endure being hovered over.
The end of September was jam-packed for me. Currently, Crys and I were in New York for the first stop on a week-long press tour. Cara had set up talk show appearances in Los Angeles and New York, I was beginning to film my videos for "Week of...Ballads" that included appearances from my family members, and on top of all that, I had to choose my next project. I had finally narrowed it down to three and was struggling to decide which one I wanted to do.
For the New York leg of the tour, I along with my Sgt. Cooper cast would be appearing on Good Morning America, Live with Kelly, and the View. I had solo appearances on the Today show, Jimmy Fallon, and the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
While I was getting ready for Good Morning America, Cara kept pestering me to decide.
"Nicole, just pick one already!!" Cara urged. "Michele needs an answer by the end of the week."
"I know; I just can't choose!!" I groaned, slumping down into my chair. "They're all really good!"
The first film I was considering was an all-female cast heist movie called Diamond Dogs from one of my favorite directors, Quentin Tarantino. I was a die-hard fan of his work and when I was sent the script, I immediately wanted on board. If I decided to sign on, I would be filming alongside Margot Robbie, Rihanna, Olivia Munn, and my girl Natalie Dormer.
The second film was a historical piece from Ridley Scott titled Mount Olympus. It told the story of how the Greek Gods came to be and he wanted me to play the role of Athena, the goddess of war. It was a very interesting script and we would be filming most of it in Greece, but I was still unsure about it.
Finally, the last one wasn't a film, but a pilot for a show that was still in the developmental stages called The Dirty Dozen. I didn't know if I was ready to make the jump from movies to television, but when I saw that it was written by Kurt Sutter, the mastermind behind Sons of Anarchy and The Shield, I knew it had to be something good. He described the show to me as the "female equivalent of Sons of Anarchy but with more violence, classic cars instead of bikes, and a whole lot of drugs."
All three projects were incredible, but I couldn't choose which one I wanted to do.
Gwen whacks my shoulder with a hairbrush, sending me back up in the chair. "Hey! Slouch again and I'll whack you harder!"
"I say do the Ridley Scott movie." Crys suggests, looking down at her phone.
"Hell no!! Go with Tarantino!!" Gwen yells over my shoulder. "That man has never EVER made a bad movie!! Kill Bill, From Dusk til Dawn, Inglorious Bastards, Django Unchained, Pulp Fiction... "
"Ridley Scott hasn't made a bad movie either Gwen!" Crys argues. "Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, American Gangster, Alien..."
"One word hun...PROMETHEUS." Gwen smirks. "That movie was just terrible! Plus, odds are if she signs with Tarantino, she could get to work with Samuel L. Jackson!!"
