Ryan's P.O.V

I need to get back now.

I shouldn't have went on that one week vacation.

These files need to get back to the office.

These important fucking files needs to get back before someone else gets to it.

I'll be honest. The vacation offer was extremely tempting though.

Then the storm hits. I start driving faster. "Fucking storm. Out of all times. Why now." I say to no one in particular.

The storm starts to grow stronger by the second. I keep driving until I finally found a house.

Jesus Christ this storm is horrible.

I quickly get out. Backpack on my back.

The rain hitting me so much.

I'm getting wetter by the minute. I ring the doorbell a lot of times. Also knocking in case the owner didn't hear.

The sweet sound of the door opening made me have hope. I rush inside and collapse on the ground.

"Oh hello." I hear a male voice say. I sit up and look at the man who opened the door.

He had glowing blond hair and bright blue eyes.

This man is beautiful.

Jesus Christ get that thought out of your head.

"Th-thanks for letting me in. That storm right now is horrible. And sorry for just..." I tell him, catching my breath. "Collapsing."

"It's fine. I understand how bad the weather is anyway. Why don't you dry up?" he kindly says.

"Thank you again Mr. ...?" I trail off.

"McQuaid. My name's Bryce McQuaid." he answers. "Here. Stay here at the couch. I'll go get towels and a blanket and maybe tea or coffee?"

"Tea. Please. Thanks." I tell him.

I shiver while waiting. But decide to open the television.

I close it almost immediately, because it showed me the weather channel.

And I did not want to know anything about the weather.

This is because, sometimes, the things the weather man or woman would say, is pure false.

Bryce comes back with a tray bearing 2 cups.

Coffee and tea. He leaves again, but heads upstairs this time. I take the hot cup of tea and blow it for a moment.

Then a small sip.

Now I'm accepting drinks from strangers. Great.

"Here you go." he hands me a light gray blanket. I put the cup down and drape the blanket over me.

He looks at me and chuckles.

"Thanks for all of this." I tell him.

I say thank you or thanks too much. I should stop.

"I think it's best that you stay over for the night. I have a spare room anyway." he says.

I shook my head, "That's awfully kind of you. But I can't stay over for the night. I have important matters to attend to." I tell him.

"Which is what exactly?" he asks.

"That's... classified." I say sadly.

He nods, "I understand. How about we talk about something to pass time before you leave?" he suggests.

"Fine." I carefully place down the cup of tea on the tray.

"Hm. I'll start. What's your name?" he asks.

"Ryan. Or you can call me Ohm if you want." I tell him with a smile.

"Why Ohm?" he asks, confused.

"It was just a nickname I had during college." I say, chuckling. "Now, tell me a bit about yourself, Bryce."

"Well. I'm 25 years old. I'm bi. And I play games whenever I don't have to do anything for my job." he says, smiling.

"Well. That's one thing we both have in common. We both play games. And I'm around 31 years old." I tell him.

"I can't believe I'm taller than you." he giggles.

"Ah shut up." I tell him.

"This might be weird to ask but... are you straight?" he asks.

"Nope." I say and laugh. "I'm polyromantic."

Bryce somehow got me to play a few rounds of Super Smash Bros.

It was fun. I pull out my phone and check the time. It was getting close to 7PM.

"Bryce. Thank you for letting me stay. But I think the rain died down a little. I should start driving back." I tell him, staring into his bright blue eyes.

"Wait. Can I ask for a favor?" he quickly says.

I shrug, "Go ahead."

"Can I come with you?" he asks.

Confused, I ask "Why? What's your purpose for wherever I have to go?"

"It's... classified." he says, smiling. "Until we get there at least."

I sigh, "Fine. I guess it's okay." I tell him.

"Great! I'll go grab some stuff like food and water. Then we can leave." Bryce giddily say and he rushes upstairs.

I sigh and look inside the bag.

Thank God this bag is waterproof.

Everything inside was still very much intact. I sigh in relief.

After a few minutes, Bryce came back, wearing a purple hoodie. He had only a backpack on him.

"Alright. I'm good to go." he says, smiling.

"Do you have an umbrella?" I ask him.

He shook his head. "Nope."

"Well okay then. Let's go." I tell him then open the door of Bryce's home.

The wind is still blowing as strong as before. The sky, still dark, still very gray.

Still gloomy.

The rain had died down for a moment. But I didn't wanna take any chances by looking at the scenery.

Both Bryce and I quickly get in. I start the car and start driving. I check the fuel tank. I have at least an hour or two before I run out.

And this ride is an estimate of a day long.

Road trips are fun.

It's why I went on this short vacation.

I stare at Bryce for a moment. He hasn't said a single word the moment we left.

I think I'm liking this man.
