Ryan's P.O.V

The ride for most of the way was awkwardly silent.

I couldn't think of anything to talk about.

My mind either trails on about the files or about how long this ride is.

The files.

I look back at Bryce, he managed to fall asleep somehow. I smile at him.

Cute.

Ring.

Ring.

Ring.

Who the hell could be calling me?

I pick up my phone and answer it. "Hello?" I say.

"Hey." the voice on the other side says.

"Evan?" I say.

"Yep it's me alright. How much longer before you arrive?"

"More than half a day."

I hear him sigh on the other end. "Well damn. But the fil-"

"I know." I cut him off. "I know how important they are. There's a bit more papers than last time. I just can't seem to stray far from work."

"Sure man. Just get back. The rest of the guys are excited to see you get back too."

I look at Bryce for a moment. "Yeah. Tell the guys I'm excited to see them as well."

"Sure man. Bye. I'll see you when you get here."

"Yeah, bye."

Then he hangs up. I keep my eyes back on the road. I hear Bryce shift. I pull over by the side of the road and carefully wake Bryce up. "Hey Brycey?" I softly say.

He groans. I shake him lightly, "Bryce?"

He yawns. "I'm up. I'm up. What's wrong?" he groggily says.

"You should probably move to the back, you might be more comfortable there." I tell him.

"Fine." he mutters then gets out of the car and enters the back. He curls into a ball and immediately fell back to sleep.

I start the car and drive again.

Maybe this trip back will be more peaceful than the drive going to the place.

After at least an hour. I start to feel sleepy.

My eyes closed for a moment, but I quickly shook myself awake.

Shit... I need sleep.

I continue driving of course. There was nothing but trees for miles ahead the sides of the road.

I hear Bryce shift. "I think I got enough sleep." he announces. "I think you should rest. And let me take the wheel."

I shake my head. "I'm fine. I do need water though. I'm starting to get thirsty."

Thirsty for you, Brycey.

Whoa. What the hell did I just think of.

I shake the thought off my head and grab the bottle of water Bryce gave.

I take a quick sip and quickly give the bottle back to him.

I slap myself, but not too hard.

But it was starting to get difficult staying awake.

"Ohm." Bryce says. I suddenly feel myself tense up.

"Y-yeah?" I pipe up.

"Pull over. I'm driving." he urges. I sigh in defeat and pull over again by the side of the road.
