Up until recently, I always thought Prom was just some stupid overrated idea that tricked teenagers into spending all this money to showcase...just to see who spent the most and who looked the best.

First, you had to shell out money for the tickets, then a tux or dress, shoes, getting your hair done, manicure, pedicure, the limo, the flowers or corsage, and then a possible hotel room? Just think...that's not including the after prom plans!

Maybe it was because I never had any friends to enjoy it with, or maybe it was the simple fact that I've never been asked to a prom before so I didn't know just what to expect...last year Zac and I didn't even go to our Junior Prom. Instead we stayed home and had a movie night filled with tons of junk food.

I stood nervously at my window peeking outside waiting on the limo to arrive, I couldn't help but feel the excitement bubbling up. We decided to chip in and rent a stretch Navigator to take us over to the Hyatt, where our prom was being held.

Our group consisted of Reese and AJ, Zac and I, Gemma and Chad, and Aiden and his date Destiny, who was a Junior cheerleader. I was surprised Hailey didn't force Aiden to join in on her group.

We each rented rooms out at the Hyatt, deciding it would be easier to stay over night since we were going to the beach after prom for a senior bonfire.

All dressed up I felt like Cinderella. My dress was a form fitting strapless pearl gown with gold sequins that sparkled and swirled from the top of the dress to the bottom. My high gold strappy heels made my legs feel miles long.

My hair was in large curls and pulled into a low side ponytail which trailed over my right shoulder...it looked very classy if I don't say so myself. My make up was light as usual with some gold eyeliner, mascara, pearl eye shadow, and lip gloss.

I got a nagging feeling as though I was forgetting something as I stood there at the window...shoot! My overnight bag and my clutch! Running...well as fast as I could in my heels up the steps to my room I quickly grabbed my bag and clutch.

The limo would be dropping us off over at Aiden's later on so we could head straight to the beach. Zac already drove my car over there and was getting ready with the guys.

As I stepped off the last step my doorbell rang, a smile instantaneously spread across my lips. Making my way over, I swung open the door with a big grin...a grin that was soon turned into a jaw dropping, open mouth stare.

Standing at my door was Zac and he looked stunning in his black tux with his thin pearly white tie. His hair was messy but it made him look so sexy!! He stood there staring at me with the same expression I held for him.

Biting down on my lip nervously. "Uhh...umm...you look so handsome Zachy." I managed to squeak out as I stepped forward and threw my arms around his neck for a hug, his hands automatically wrapped around my waist. His cologne was intoxicating.

"Thanks Kai, you're absolutely gorgeous." He said as I felt his head turn slightly, then his lips brushed against my cheek. Stepping back he held out a beautiful white orchid corsage so that I could slip my hand through the band.

"It's beautiful, I love it." I whispered looking down at my favorite flower as I mindlessly felt the soft petals.

"It's almost as beautiful as you are." He stated while looking at me with an intense gaze. I grinned up at him, feeling my cheeks flush at the compliment.

"C'mon lovebirds let's get a move on!!" Aiden screamed from the driveway causing us both to crack up laughing.

Sitting in the limo, which by the way was amazing on the inside...it had a tv, a bar, two sunroofs, and was lit up with neon lights...we all sat drinking champagne. Reese brought along a bottle of grape vodka and we all took a shot, while snapping pictures of one another left and right.
