I'm in a place of nothing. I step, unsure if the floor is flat, or even a floor. I'm dizzy. Where am I? Suddenly there's a door. And two. What is this crappy dream?! I walk towards the doors and see that there is a hatch as well. On a wall, of course, by the other doors. I go into the hatch feet first.
I fall (happily, feet first) onto a half deflated blowup mattress. James is there. We are in a room with a hatch on the roof, two small doors, and a set of fancy-ish double doors. "Heh. Probably should've told ya how that works?" James says. "Yea, no duh dip-face." I reply. It seems like the doors are replicated in that place. Great. I didn't see the double doors in there, though. James points at the fancy double doors. "Headmaster Meerah's office. We are going in." He grabs my wrist and takes me in. The lady at the desk actually looks middle aged, 25 or so. Her hair is light pink, and she has such an authoritative face that I want to scream and run. She sees it and smiles. She nods to James, and he tightens his grip on my wrist. I twist him off and face the head. She has a cruel look on her face. "Another minor, James?" She asks James. "Yes Meerah, Empathic." He replies. I wave a bit. She gives a cold smile and turns more to me. "What's your name, then, empath?" She asks. I gulp. "Mary." I reply. "Hmm. Boring. You'll have to have a nickname, surely, until your second power comes along." She says. "Have you got one now, or will you be making one?" She asks. "Oh I haven't got a nickname. I guess I'll make one?" I reply. She nods. "What'll it be?" I think a minute. I'm not sure. It should fit my personality, and be interesting. Short too, as I'll use it often. "I'm not sure." I say. "James will tell me your decision tomorrow." She says. She waves James and I off towards a glowing door in the corner. "It's set for her dorm, James." She says. We smile and nod and walk to it. James says, "the door on the left." As he jumps in. I follow. It's another portal thingy. There
Are 2 doors, one is gray wood with a black symbol and one with a different one. I jump into the one on the left, and find myself in a hallway. James is there. "Great, you got the right one." He says. My quick wit jumps, "No, I'm in the left one!" He laughs. He walks me to a room as I hear thunder and heavy rain outside. James rolls his eyes and puts his hand up, presumably to stop it. It continues and he groans. "Magic storm. Power might go out later." Wait, what? Oh whatever. I look around and see two doors on the right side of the room and two on the left. "You'll be completing this one. Back door on the right is yours." I go over to it and open the door to a room with my suitcase in it. I grin. The suitcase suddenly opens. All of my stuff goes flying into drawers and cabinets and my suitcase closes and goes into its wheels. It tucks itself into a corner and I smile and walk out. I see a girl walk out of the room next to me. She has thin red hair and sparkly green eyes. "Hi! Are you the empath?" She asks. "Yea, I suppose." I reply. She extends her hand and I shake it. "I'm Avery." "I'm Mary, but I'm supposed to get a nickname." I reply. "Cool!" She says. She seems so happy. "Well what are your powers?" I ask. She smiles. "Let me show you!" She waves her hand and I turn behind me. The couch is floating, and the pillows are balancing perfectly on the armrests. "Awesome!" I exclaim. She puts them down. I turn back to her, but she's gone. "Avery? Where-" I am cut off by her re-appearing in front of me. "Invisibility?" I guess. "Exactly. Invisibility and telekinesis." She says. "Cool!" I say again. "Hold on, let me get Sarah." She says. I guess that's another kid? She knocks on the door across from hers and says loudly, "Sarah? Come on, the empath is here!" The door swings open in a split second and out walks a girl with black hair in a bun and deep brown eyes. "Hey. I'm Sarah." She says calmly and a bit dark. I wave. "I'm Mary, but the head wants me to get a nickname." I reply. "So what are your powers?" I ask. She smiles a bit evilly, but I like it. It's a rebellious smile. "Aw not this again." Avery says as she backs up to the wall. A rather loud wave of darkness comes over me and my vision fades. It becomes hard to walk as I step towards the direction she was in. "What is this?" I ask. "Shadow." She says, and my vision fades back and becomes normal again. "And? What else?" I say, almost frightened. In a split second she is right in front of me. "Teleportation." I say to her. She smiles and teleports back. "Only to places I can see." She says. "Oh! Brooke will want to see you. She probably heard the shadow wave, but still." Avery says as she walks over to the door across from mine. All of the doors have small pictures on them. Avery's has a table on another table, and an outline of a person. Sarah's has a picture of two silhouettes of people with blur between them, and a black oval, and this other one has a picture of a dog and a blur-ish silhouette of a person running. I turn around and see mine has a picture of a brain on it. Avery knocks on the other door and another girl opens it. She has dirty blonde hair and glasses. "What do you want?" She asks. She then sees me. "That the empath?" She asks Avery, who nods. The other girl walks over to me. "My name is Brooke. Yours?" She says. "Mary, but I'm supposed to get a nickname until I find my other power so I'm interesting." I respond. "And what are your powers, Brooke? Everyone knows mine." I ask. She smiles. "Well, I have Zoolingualism, for one. Speech to animals." She says, "And as for the other one.." She blurs around the room seemingly running in circles, but it's all a huge blur. "Speed?" I ask loudly. She stops in front of me. "Yea. Speed." She says grinning. A white rabbit hops out of her room, and looks up to her when it sees me. "Oh no bun-bun she's nice." Brooke says to it. Weird, but okay. This is going to be so much fun! All of a sudden, we hear thunder booming so loudly I hear people scream in another dorm. The lights go out with a flash of lightning. It's not all dark though...
