<> Skylar's P.O.V <>

"I can't believe we're going to be late." I groan, tapping the steering wheel impatiently, staring down the road while sitting at a red traffic light. Late to what? Lucie's graduation ceremony. Yep we are going to be late to Lucie's Graduation ceremony. Hopefully the principal keeps her speech very long.

"Hey don't take it out on me!" Brad puts his hands up and mock surrender and I roll my eyes, looking over to him. "I'm not taking it out on you. I'm taking it out on the world!" I look back to the road, letting out a sigh of relief when the light turns green. I drive the car forward, desperately wanting to get to the school.

"If it's anyone's fault it's yours for taking ages to get ready." Bradley says and I scoff, not facing him but keeping my eyes on the road. But if I could face him I would give him a glare. "Don't test me Bradley. You know very well that it takes a long time to look this amazing." I decide to lighten the mood rather than throw major shade.

"Oh come on you look just as beautiful without the makeup and jewellery." He tells me and I chuckle. "Oh and there he goes again! Bradley being as cheesy as ever!" I tease and he rolls his eyes with a laugh. Soon enough we pull up to the school and we jump out of the car. Well we jump out after it's parked.

He grabs my hand and we run towards the gymnasium entrance. Just as we get to the door he stops me, turning me to face him and I smile with curiosity. He leans in placing a quick kiss on my lips and I smile even wider. "Just for good luck." He smiles before opening the door, pulling me into the gymnasium quietly. For a second I am confused as to why I need good luck but then I remember.

"Skylar I need your opinion on something." Lucie say from her bed behind me and I turn around, giving her a light smile. "Yeah go ahead." I nod to her, sitting down in the comfy chair that I'm so used to sitting on.

"So you obviously know that I've been doing a lot of rehab lately to get me up and walking again. Because you know... I've been dormant for a year and a bit now." She says with a smile and I chuckle, nodding and looking down to the ground.

"Well for graduation I wanted to actually walk up onto the stage and receive my awards. I talked to the nurses about it and they said that they think I'll be fine but I need someone to walk up there with me in case... I fall." She shrugs and I look back up to her, smiling wide and standing up.

"I think that is a great idea Luce." I sit on her bed with her and she looks at me with a smile. "Would you be able to walk up there with me? Like you know... Onto the stage?" She looks up to me with hopeful eyes and I smile even more, nodding ever so giddily.

"Of course I will Lucie." I say, leaning down and pulling her into a tight hug.

-------------------------------------

I see Lucie lined up at the side of the stage. She is leaning on her crutches, looking around aimlessly. I speed walk over to the other side of the gymnasium, trying not to distract anyone as other graduates receive their awards. She spots me and her face lights up as she gestures me to come over to her.

I get to her and she pulls me into a big hug. "I'm so sorry I was late Luce." I pout and she chuckles, shaking her head and shrugging. "It's all good." She smiles, looking back to the stage.

"Don't you look so grown up?" I smile proudly, playing with her big blue robe and looking to her graduation hat. "I know right isn't this a good look." She poses and I smile, looking down the line and she is two people away from being announced.
