Liam’s POV-
I skipped my way down the stairs to get Jamie and myself a drink. I reached the kitchen and pulled out two wine glasses. I filled them half way with red wine and headed back upstairs. I was so excited for Jamie to open up the envelope and see all her results. I know everything will be just fine.
I pushed open the bedroom door to see Jamie wasn’t sitting on the bed anymore. I did a quick scan of the room and she was nowhere to be seen. I looked back towards the bed and I saw the envelope was opened and there were papers everywhere. She opened them without me? Why didn’t she wait for me? I walked over to the bed and went to pick up the papers when I heard a noise come from the bathroom. I stopped on the spot, turned around and went over to the door. I stopped right in front of it and put my head towards the door. I listened for anything. I heard grumbling and I took a step closer, pressing my face gently up against the door.
“… I’m pregnant.”
I dropped both the wine glasses and stumbled backwards, falling flat on my bum. I scrambled backwards on the floor until I was backed up against my bed. I frantically grabbed the frame behind me and pulled myself to my feet. I fell backwards sitting on my bed. Jamie’s pregnant? She couldn’t be pregnant, we only had sex once. I looked around my room, finally settling on the papers on the bed next to my left. I grabbed them all, flicking through them all. I came across a pink slip of paper. I skim read it. I took a deep breath. Jamie was pregnant. I stared at the floor blankly at the floor, unsure on how to feel. I heard the bathroom door open and my head snapped up too now see a very fragile looking Jamie stepped out, nearly stepping on the broken glass from the glasses I dropped. She gasped her eyes fixated on the glass, before she took a deep breath, taking a moment to piece it all together. She slowly looked up at me. Her face looked confused and scared. I needed to be there for her. No matter how scared I was as well, I needed to be there for her… and our child.
Jamie’s POV-
I let the words escape and the other line went silent. “Niall…” I mumbled out, tears blurring my eye sight. “Niall, please answer me-”
“Jamie?” I heard a husky voice finally come through the phone.
“Harry?” I stuttered out confused.
“What the hell did you say to Niall; he dropped the phone and hasn’t moved since.” He asked worried.
“I, he, I’m…” I tried to form a sentence but nothing worked. I freaked out and pulled the phone away from my face, rapidly hitting the end call on my screen. I chucked my phone across the room and heard it smash. Smart move Jamie. I crawled across the bathroom tiled floor and picked it up. Turning it over and revealing a couple of cracks on my iPhone screen. I sighed before pulling myself up to my feet. My legs were wobbly and I didn’t know how well I was going to be able to walk. I opened the bathroom door slowly, my gaze on the ground. I jumped backwards when I saw broken glass and red wine all over the cream carpet. Oh no. Oh no, no no no no. I thought, raising my head slowly to find Liam sitting on the bed with the papers in his hand. Fuck. I stood there awkwardly, not wanting to be the first person to speak. I dropped my gaze and looked at my toes, wiggling in the now red wine drenched carpet.
“Is this true?” Liam finally mumbled standing up, holding the papers out towards me. I nodded slightly, not looking up at him. I heard him take in a big breath before continuing.
“It’s okay. It’s fine. We can do this. We can raise our baby together, I know we’re young but we can do this.” Liam started to ramble on. I froze now looking up at him. Did he say ‘our’ baby? “I can look for houses here in Wolves for us, so we can be close to mum. I know she’ll help out a lot and be a great support for us.” He continued on. He was pacing back and forwards in front of the bed, his eye sight was on his hands, his right one being continuously punched into his left. I tried to speak but I couldn’t form any words. He continued on his ramble, “I know that boys, would be completely understanding and they would also support us. It might be a bit hard with all the touring and stuff but maybe we can see if we can wait until the baby is born.”
“Okay Liam, stop.” I finally stuttered.
“No Jamie, it’s okay.” He said rushing over to me. He grabbed me into his arms, lifting me over the broken glass and gently putting me down in front of the bed. He grabbed my shoulders, pushing me back slightly. “We can do this. I’ve always wanted to start a family, I didn’t think it would be this early but I’ve always wanted one.” He paused slightly before continuing. “And now I’m starting one, with the gorgeous girl I love.” He pushed his lips on mine and I just stood there. I didn’t respond. I just stood there. I couldn’t comprehend what was happening. “Jamie. We can do this.” He smiled slightly. I looked in his eyes and there was hope swimming all through them.
“Liam…” I shook my head in disbelief. “You’re the most beautiful boy.” I said quietly before letting the tears splurge all down my face. He went to speak but I cut him off again, this was too painful. “Liam, the baby…” I shook my head, looking back down at the ground.
“What do you mean? The papers say its fine?” He said starting to get worried.
“No, no… it’s not that there’s anything wrong with it.” I took a step backwards and Liam stepped forwards, mirroring my motion.
“Then what is it?” He cupped my face in his hands. I placed my hands on top of his. I was about to break this poor boys heart.
“It’s Niall’s.” I finally exhaled, letting more tears crash upon my cheeks.
“Wh-What?” He stumbled backwards. “What do you mean its Niall’s?” He looked genuinely confused.
“I’m eight weeks pregnant Liam.” I replied, hoping he would catch on but he just looked at me blankly. “I’ve only been here for two weeks… This means I fell pregnant back in September.” His jaw was still hanging open and he wasn’t moving. I took a step towards him and he took a step back instantly.
“So what does this mean?” Liam asked through a clenched jaw.
“This means we go back.” I said quietly waiting for his reply.
“Are you fucking kidding me?!” He chucked the papers across the room making me flinch. “After everything he did too you! You want to go back?!”
“Liam…” I tried to speak but he just kept screaming at me.
“After everything we’ve been through the last 2 weeks. You’re going to go back to him!”
“I’m having his child!” I screamed back at him, shutting my mouth instantly, wishing I didn’t say that.
“Does this mean we’re done?” Liam broke his gaze and looked at the papers all over the floor. I walked over to him quietly and waited for him to look at me. It felt like forever before his glossy brown eyes gazed into my crystal blue ones. I nodded in reply to his previous question. He clenched his teeth and let out a huge breath through his nose. I begin to reach out to him when he whispered-
“Don’t.”
“Liam, please…” I tried to reason with him, about to touch his face.
“You told me you loved me. You told me you meant it.” He said not much louder than a whisper. As soon as my fingertips made contact with his cheek he suddenly snapped and pushed my backwards. The force of his push sent me straight onto my bum, heavily. I felt my hand fly straight towards my stomach in defensive mode. I gawked at my belly, unsure if that fall could have hurt it. I looked up at Liam, my eyes completely blurred due to tears. Liam was staring at me with huge eyes, as if he couldn’t believe what he just did.
“I did love you Liam.” I stated. “I still do, I think… I don’t know, but I just, I can’t do this.” I said shaking my head before getting back up. Liam hadn’t moved from the position that he pushed me in. “I need to go see Niall.” I grabbed my phone off the bed and just left. As soon as I turned my back towards Liam, the tears really started to fall. I raced down the stairs, grabbing my keys off the bench- but of course I ran into Karen.
“Jamie- Sweetie? Are you okay?” She questioned, noticing that I was bawling my eyes out. I just shrugged her off and headed for the front door. I heard footsteps racing down the stairs but I didn’t look back, I knew it would be Liam. I swung the front door open-
“Liam, what the hell happened?!” I heard Karen squawk at Liam. I slammed the door shut before I heard him answer. I headed straight for my little white jeep which was parked out the front of their small house in Wolves. I jumped in and started him up instantly. I reversed out the drive-way and spun out onto the main road. I pulled out onto the highway and began my 3 hour trip back to the place and people I had spent the last 2 weeks avoiding.
