Niall’s POV-
Did she say twins? Did she really just say Jamie was pregnant with twins?
“I’m not Mrs Horan.” I heard a soft voice reply.
“Oh, very well then.” The doctor nodded in acknowledgment. “About the babies…” she continued on.
“I will get you to come back in about 6 weeks, which will make you 12 weeks, just in time for the 12 week scan.” I looked up and noticed she was only talking to Jamie, like I wasn’t even there.
“Twins.” I mumbled out and both women looked at me instantly.
“That’s right Mr Horan. The ultra-sound has picked up two heart beats, and Jamie’s pregnancy levels are too high for someone carrying only one baby. But it’s not 100% we will know definitely on the 12 week scan.” She said slowly, breaking everything down for me. I must have looked as pale as I felt. I just nodded and she continued to talk to Jamie, “You will be experiencing extremely fatigue and hunger. Especially if you are carrying twins, it’s nearly twice as difficult.” She smiled slightly and Jamie let out a little sigh. She must have been just as nervous as I was; I hadn’t even been focusing on her. I reached over for her hand again and she grabbed it back instantly, I felt a smile creep onto my face and looked at her. She was in tuned in what the doctor was saying, but I couldn’t help but stare at her. She was the most beautiful girl, I had ever seen in the entire world. I mean that as well; I had never seen a more beautiful, perfect girl in my whole life. I had her as my girlfriend as well, I was going to marry her, make her my everything and start a family with her… I guess starting a family with her is already in motion, but I’ve ruined everything else. I felt her grip tighten on my hand, she must have felt my thinking… as weird as that sounds, she always knows.
“I’ll see you in 6 weeks Jamie, take care and get plenty of rest.” Jamie stood up giving her a hug and began heading out the door.
“You coming or are you going to have your own ultra-sound?” I looked up at Jamie who was now smiling in the door-way. I laughed awkwardly, shaking my head.
“Thank you.” I said quickly to the doctor before we both left.
Jamie’s POV-
Neither of us spoke as I followed him out of the hospital and to his car. We’d been driving for about 10 minutes before he finally spoke.
“Why did you even go to the hospital Jamie?”
“Because, I wanted to make sure everything was okay…” I replied back smoothly.
“What would make you think everything wasn’t okay?” he asked another question making me stress.
“I um, I just wanted to make sure.” I said awkwardly and hesitantly. Please, don’t let him pick up on it-
“Well, that’s bullshit.” He spat back, “Now tell me the real reason.”
“Niall, it’s nothing!” I tried to defend myself but I knew I would have to tell him eventually.
“It’s not okay to lie to me Jamie.” He let out an angry sigh.
“But it’s okay for you to lie to me?! For nine months!?” I screeched back, pulling my knees to my chest. I saw him tense up and his hands gripped onto the steering wheel. I let out a little sigh before looking out the window, it looked like it was about to rain and a storm was coming. Definitely fit the mood. A couple of minutes passed and I looked over at him, his jaw was still tensed and his knuckles were turning white from the grip he had on the wheel.
“I got into an argument with Liam.” I started to explain when his face flicked over to me quickly, giving me approval to continue on. “We picked up my results for my blood tests and I saw I was pregnant, I had left the results on his bed and ran into his bathroom when I called you…” My voice was little and I felt scared to continue. Niall grunted, I must have paused for too long. “When I got off the phone I walked out and Liam had the results, he started going on this ramble that we can raise it together and that we can get a house together…” I didn’t want to continue.
