Akise took (Y/n) home after the incidant, and bought her a smoothie on the way out. She sucked on the stray, silently brooding.

"(Alais)," Akise said, trying to get her attention. She glared at him, sipping the smoothie, eyes still red and watery. Akise sighed, "(Alais), if I had known you were that terrified, I wouldn't have taken you on it. Next time just say if you don't want to do something."

She stared out the window, silently thinking to herself. I did tell you I didn't want to do it, jerk.

Akise opened her door and helped her out, leading her into the station so they could talk with Fourth. Pushing open the door, he beheld Fourth typing away furiously at a computer and Vain sitting in a chair with her knees pressed to her chest, eating some choclate chips. Akise cleared his throat, and they looked up at him.

"Ninth was not attracted to First or Second," he said arrogantly. (Y/n) stared at Vain, who stared back, and tossed her a choclate chip. (Y/n) ate it and then stood next to Vain, watching their conversation develop.

"-but it wasn't all in vain," Akise said with a malicious grin, looking to (Y/n) who mouthed 'Don't you dare'. "I found out that (Alais) is afraid of heights."

Vain looked up at (Y/n) in question of the alias. (Y/n) stared at him with such intensity that you would think her blood was boiling as Fourth broke into laughter.

"Hafu! Is! Afraid-HE HE!  Of! Heights-HE HE!" Fourth howled with laughter and (Y/n) grabbed Vain's hand, storming out. Akise threw her a sideways glance, and (Y/n) pretended not to notice.

"(Y/n), where are we going?" Vain asked bluntly. (Y/n) briskly turned around and looked her in the eyes.

"What do you mean?! We're going home!" She yelled at her. Vain was quiet and stared into her humiliation filled eyes. Then nodded her head, and (Y/n) began walking again.

After a bit, Vain spoke up.

"You're house isn't safe for you," she said quietly.

"What do you mean?" (Y/n) glanced at her in the corner of her eye, angry and confused.

"The police," Vain replied bored, eating another choclate chip. "They know where you live."

(Y/n) stopped in her tracks as it hit her, then clenched her fists, angrily staring into the forest infront of her. Vain ate another choclate chip, watching as the anger seeped from (Y/n)'s body, not making a move to help her calm down. After a minute of watching, she spoke.

"We could go to my home," Vain said, eating another choclate chip. "Its a ten mile run, though."

"Let's go," (Y/n) said, and started walking.

"I said run," Vain told her quietly. "Or it will be an hour."

And Vain broke off into what would be a sprint for (Y/n), arriving at the house later. It wasn't magnificent, but it seemed homely. It was slightly smaller than (Y/n)'s house in the woods, but that didn't matter. Vain ate another choclate chip as she opened her front door, (Y/n) panting behind her.

They walked inside, and all (Y/n) could see were pictures upon pictures of Vain and her family. A young, auburn haired boy who (Y/n) assumed was her brother, a tall father figure with brilliant green eyes and an average brunette woman for her mother. There was at least one picture in every room, and a few held photographs of elders or people who resembled Vain as well.

"Is this your family?" (Y/n) asked stupidly.

"I hate them," Vain replied. "The only one who should still be here is him." She said as she pointed to the small boy. "But the took him away from me, so I did what they did to him to them."
