Vain and (Y/n) spent most of their day at the mall after that, stopping from street house to street house, (Y/n) practically begging Vain to take her into one of the bakeries, in which she firmly declined, knowing that this was the only way to motivate her to shop for clothes that didn't reek of hospitals and dogs.

She did end up being dragged away, though, and they quickly went into a store for people who like to spend fifty dollars on a tie, then, deciding jeans could be found a low price of three thousand yen (*roughly 30 USD) in the next store over, they jumped over there.

They both carried a large bag full of new clothes as they walked into the pastry store, buying two bagels for the next morning and a cinnamon roll for (Y/n) to devour on the walk home.

They should have been more worried about the whole game, after all, one of them would die, but they tried not to think about that. They had made a pact agreeing that until they were the final two left, they would have a fair fight. At least, that's what they hoped would happen.

They went home and spent the rest of the day lounging around until it was time for them to head out to help First and Second at the hospital, wearing as much back as possible, and covering their faces with white masks.

They arrived, and Vain had already given her a long and stern talk about keeping quiet. They were armed with guns, and (Y/n) couldn't help but stroke her fingers over the barrel of the gun as stars lit up her eyes and she hoped that she could shoot somebody down with it. Oh, how much fun it would be to hear their screams of agony as she sat perched safely atop a hill.

First met them at the meeting place they had designed and Second trailed his path quietly, watching their every move and constantly checking her diary. Of course, this put (Y/n) on edge, but she didn't want Second to know that. That woman was all kinds of mysterious, hell, (Y/n) had already made plenty of assumptions to secrets she was hiding, the biggest on her list being a clone or murdered her parents, but that was probably fiction.

First and Second left and after discussing the plan, and Vain and (Y/n) were alone, tentative on their rifles and watching for even the slightest bit of movement.

The police force came when the hospital was put on lockdown and it was released that there were hostages. They surrounded the hospital, guns evidently shown, and after an explosion and signal from First, they took down all of the men that they could see. There was panic now.

They moved down the hill, watching each other and shooting anybody who came into their range.

An ear peircing cry came from directly behind  (Y/n), and she turned to watch Vain fall to the ground in anguish, her leg bleeding immensely. She still held onto her gun, but she pointed to the hospital window, where a man stood, pointing his gun at them.

(Y/n) didn't hesitate to lift up her gun and fire four bullets at him, none of them missing.

She told Vain to stand, and theyhobbled back into the woods, where they dug out the bullet in her leg. As soon as it was out, they used a gauze that they had brought in case this happened, and wrapped her leg. They looked at each other, then picked up the flashlight and signaled to First that they were leaving.

He signaled back saying that they should stay for five minutes and that he really needed their help. They signaled back that Vain had been shot and would die if they didn't leave, and threw their flashlight down the hill. First signalled back, but they didn't read it, they were already gone.

(Y/n) called Akise, knowing that he had some practice with medical things, and he arrived at their house just as they did.

Vain had passed out already, and they laid her on the ground, propping up her head with a pillow. Akise made quick work of taking off the gauze, then cleaned the wound and put some white ointment on it, wrapping it back up again. (Y/n) watched his handiwork the entire time, making sure nothing bad happened.
