Chapter Four

“Seriously, Kansei-sensei you’re like freaking bipolar whenever you’re around Raion-chan.” Sekka said, pausing as she slurped at her ramen.

“Love does crazy things, brat.” Kansei said, his focus obviously not on his Genin due to the evident dreamy look on his face. His mind was going back to yesterday when the trio plus Kosuto had gone off to explore the village, leaving him and Raion to….catch up.

“How long have you two been together anyway?” Yari questioned curiously.

“Three years. She was in Konoha for the Chunin Exams when we first met. We’ve been going to each other’s villages every month since then. Me to Suna, her to Konoha, you know. Only exception was when I had missions for ANBU to run.”

“That’s actually pretty cool that you can establish a long-distance relationship like that. What does the Hokage and Kazekage think?” Sekka asked, her mind completely intrigued by her sensei’s relationship.

“Hokage-sama is just amused by it all. He doesn’t really care since he knows I’m completely loyal to the village. Kazekage-sama though….well, I think he’s cool with it. Raion’s only a Chunin anyway, it’s not like she knows the major fuck-everything-up-if-it-gets-out secrets of Suna.”

“That’s such a nice way to explain things.” Raion observed sarcastically, slipping onto the barstool beside Kansei.

The male simply shrugged. “It’s true and you can’t deny it. Hell, I’ve got fucking mental blocks to prevent anyone from trying to learn the shit I know. I can’t even say ‘em without another seal closing my throat up. Even talking briefly about me knowing things is making the damn thing burn.”

Rubbing at his neck, Kansei noticed the confused looks his Genin had and frowned, waving a hand. “I’ll explain seals and everything when we get back to Konoha.”

Satisfied by this answer, the Genin turned back to their ramen, Sekka and Yari already on a second bowl while Sukai was content with only one.

“You’re actually adjusting into this sensei role pretty good from what I’ve seen.” Raion said, her voice only showing mild surprise as she looked over her boyfriend. It’s not really a surprise though….he’s a prodigy when it comes to the ninja arts. Instructing people on them is probably simple. Even if he hates most people, it’s only usually due to them being too dim-witted to understand the speed of which he processes things.

“Well, they’re not all that irritating, once you get past their….quirks.” As an example, Kansei motioned to Sukai who was already taking a nap on the counter, his empty ramen bowl pushed to the side.

“Right….so, you wanna train?” Raion questioned, instantly getting Sekka and Yari’s attention. Kansei never used jutsu or even his full speed when sparring against them, so maybe seeing him fight against a higher ranked ninja would let them see him do as such.

“Sure. You two, hurry up.” Kansei ordered, quickly finishing off the last of his second bowl. Sekka and Yari did as ordered, waking up Sukai as Kansei actually paid for their food for once.

Within ten minutes they were standing out in the desert, a breeze making sand drift through the hair. As they sat approximately twenty feet away, the Genin watched curiously as Kansei pulled out a pair of black goggles, quickly putting them on.

“Learned after the last time I blinded you, eh?” Raion teased, making the Jonin roll his eyes.

“Let’s see if you make me actually use a jutsu this time.” Kansei shot back, smirking at the annoyed look that crossed his girlfriend’s face.
