Chapter Six
“Two weeks with a Uzumaki, six with me and you all finally got to making effective paper bombs and sealing scrolls.” Kansei chuckled, unsummoning the kunai he used to test Sekka’s sealing scroll.
The three Genin were two months older, smarter, and stronger. The lesson’s had begun to take up so much time that Kansei had ordered that Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday would be for fūinjutsu while Thursday, Friday and Saturday were for actual training, giving the Genin Sunday’s off so that they weren’t overworked. This excluded the two C-rank missions they had been giving over the two months or the multiple D-ranks.
“Shut up.” Sekka grumbled, rubbing her thumb and forefinger together to try and get off the dried ink. That was another thing, the Genin’s personal scents had changed to include ink. It was a given seeing as even in their free time the Genin were working on mastering the first step of fūinjutsu. Sukai split his time between napping, but he still worked on it.
“So nice to the sensei who probably taught you an art no one else would’ve learned. Especially Gai’s team, Kami rest their innocent souls.” Kansei shivered at the thought of the jumpsuit-wearing Jonin and what he had done to his team. One was like a replica of him, so that left the other two to deal with two Gai’s at once.
Rolling their eyes, the Genin watched as Kansei rolled up the scroll and tossed it back to Sekka who caught it with a proud look on her face. She had the most trouble with it seeing as Yari was used to chakra control due to his genjutsu abilities, and Sukai with his shadow jutsu that needed precise chakra so that the clan-based jutsu wouldn’t waste his chakra supply.
“Alright, Team 4 will now begin their summoning jutsu training.” Kansei said officially before producing three papers. Handing one to each of the Genin, he watched in amusement as their faces contorted in confusion.
“Wavers?” Sukai asked, eyes scanning over the paper that needed his signature.
“So that I’m not blamed in case you die.” Kansei replied with far too much happiness. The Genin sweatdropped, looking up at him with deadpan stares.
Kansei chuckled, waving his hand before suddenly he bit his finger ‘til it bled, flipped through multiple handsigns and slammed his bleeding right hand down on the ground. “Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)!”
In a puff of smoke, Kuki appeared beside their sensei, licking at her paw before rubbing it over her ears. Noticing she was summoned, she looked around the clearing in interest while Kansei continued to speak.
“That was a properly executed summon. Once you sign the blood contract, you’ll be able to summon an animal with your chakra. You’ll need your blood for it to work properly, so must people bite their thumb or even use wounds their enemy has made to start that. Then, you’ll go through the handsigns Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey, and Ram before slamming the hand you signed the contract with that has blood on it on the ground. The amount of chakra you use determines how powerful the summoned creature can be.” Kansei motioned to Kuki before biting his thumb once again so that blood could flow more easily before making the handsigns once again.
In the puff of smoke that followed him hitting the ground, a six foot tall tiger with glowing gold eyes appeared beside Kansei and subsequently making Yari yelp in fear.
“Kansei-teme.” The tiger greeted, looking at Kansei in annoyance.
“Again, Genin. Not my fault. If it’s anyone’s, it’s Hokage-sama’s.” Kansei grumbled before turning to his Genin and motioning to the male. “This is Kogeta, Kuki’s brother. He’s not fully grown yet, but this is how tall Kuki should actually be.”
The female dwarf tiger had jumped up to Kogeta’s head, resting there comfortably with her tail wrapped around her paws. Both of the tigers had a Konoha headband wrapped around their necks, signifying their allegiance to the Hidden Village.
“He’s huge!” Sekka exclaimed, not understanding how Kogeta wasn’t fully grown.
“The boss summon, aka the one in charge of all of the other summons, is Kajiarashi and he’s about….eight, ninety feet tall? What would you say, Kogeta?”
“That’s about right.” The tiger nodded his head, leaving the three Genin flabbergasted.
“Anyway, I showed you that because you’ll be summoning soon. But first, lecture time.” Kansei ignored the Genin’s groans and smirked. “There’s a thing about the summoning contract. It never goes away, so long as the scroll holding the contract is not destroyed. If you die, it’s still there. Also, take into account that anyone can summon a contracted animal as long as they have the blood from someone how has made a contract, the seal of the sumononed creature, along with a source of sufficient chakra that the summon will accept. A creature is capable of determining who is attempting to summon it from the chakra used. Meaning, if both of your hands are broken, your teammate could summon one of your creatures with use of your blood and their chakra. Since it’s a given that you’ll all know one another’s summons by the time this may be used, it could be essential in winning a battle.”
“If we could summon our own creature, why would we summon each other’s?” Sekka asked as Kansei paused so that the information could be digested.
“Certain creatures are used in certain situations. Imagine if you get a water creature and you’re in Kirigakure for a high-level mission. You could hypothetically use it to swim quickly away if you’re fleeing and the one that can summon them is fucked up. One of you could summon it instead.”
Nodding in understanding, the Genin waited for Kansei to continue, which he quickly did. “Also, there’s a thing. Some summons are assholes.” Ignoring their sweatdrops, Kansei kept speaking. “You can summon them, but they’ll refuse to help. Thusly, don’t summon creatures who you know won’t help. Except if you need them, ‘cause Kajiarashi can be an ass most of the time but if the situation calls for it, he’ll fight. Also, if a summon is busy with something when you try to summon them, they’ll more than likely send someone else as a substitute. It’s happened with Kogeta a lot and I’ll get Kuki instead.”
Turning to glare at the lazy tiger, Kansei only got the cold shoulder in return.
“Alright, so how do we sign a contract?” Sukai questioned.
“Do what I just did to summon those two. Only something won’t be summoned. You’ll be transported to the home of the animal you have a natural affinity for. Don’t do it right now, ‘cause you’ll need to gather supplies. There’s no telling where you’ll end up. Or how long you’ll be there. It may take time to convince the summons to except you. It took half a year to convince the tigers. So, for now, I’ll train you for the rest of the day on how to hide your scent more effectively than normal and then you’ll all be dismissed from training for tomorrow to gather supplies. The next day, however, you’ll be going to your summons home. Good luck.” Kansei ended his long explanation with a bright smile, getting the Genin to sweatdrop.
