"Please take a seat, Bethany." A tall, dark haired man gestured to a chair in front of an empty desk that had nothing on it other than a small stack of papers, a laptop, and a name plate that read Mr.Anderson.
The young blonde, whom was beat by her father and sent to the hospital only two days ago, was now taken to the police station. She was only ten and had not been told where she was going and had even hesitated at first until she saw the Detective who had comforted her the other night. He had smiled at her, though the happiness never reached his eyes and she wondered for the first time if everything was her fault. How could it not have been?
"I'm so sorry for your loss," the man started as soon as Bethany had taken her seat followed by the Detective. "I'm Mr. Anderson but you may call me Brad if you'd like. I'm here to make this process run as smoothly and as much to your liking as possible."
"What process," the young blonde mumbled.
"He's a social worker," the Detective cut in. "Basically he helps people solve and cope with problems in their lives." He turned towards Bethany, watching as she played with her fingers like they were the most interesting things in the world, while also noticing how much they were shaking.
"Since your mother is going to be in the hospital for a couple weeks...we need to discuss temporary housing. We attempted to contact your uncle in Starling but we've received no reply."
"We've arranged for you to stay with a foster family until your mother is well enough to take you in again. You are also arranged to see me twice a week."

"Barry," Cisco shouted, seeing his new friend laying unconscious on the floor, which caused Caitlyn to come running into the room. Bethany lazily pushed herself up, not fully comprehending what had happened until her eyes found Barry.
"What happened," Caitlyn yelled when her eyes found Barry sprawled out across the floor.
"H-he said he fainted earlier," Bethany mumbled out as she struggled to get to her feet. "I-I-I think h-he did, again." Her stomach erupted into a fit of butterflies, similar to each time she got a bad feeling, but this time, instead of her body forcing her up and away, she simply stayed where she was. That's where she was meant to be.
They dragged Barry to a bed that laid empty in the middle of the room. Quickly, Caitlyn drew some blood while Cisco added an IV.
The blonde watched their actions intently, as if they would mess up and hurt Barry further. She thought about getting up and helping them access the situation but Bethany figured Caitlyn seemed to have it handled.
"Where did you go," Cisco questioned suspiciously, raising his eyebrows at her.
"I was feeling a little sick, so I went home and then got a call from Detective Thawn telling me to go to Stagg Industries where Barry was with Iris." Cisco nodded, confirming to Bethany that she had lied smoothly. "Anyways, why did I need to come?"
Cisco glanced at Caitlyn for help before looking down at his feet with nothing to say. The red head organized the medical supplies she had been using, before walking around to a computer and quickly began typing a bunch of stuff. Without much time passing the words "CASE THREE" popped up in the top left corner along with "Bethany Howard" underneath and "Unclear" under that.
"Case Three," the blonde questioned running her hand through her hair as a nervous habit. "What does that mean?"
"Well, you are the third metahuman we've come across."
