Tony

"You spent the night with Steve Rogers?!" Clint asks loudly while slapping his hand on the table.

"Gee, Clint. Could you say it a little louder," I sarcastically reply.

"You spent the night with Steve Rogers?" He says again, this time in a more hushed tone.

"Yes, dammit. After the whole Meredith incident occurred he took me to his house so I could crash there."

Clint smirks deviously and takes a sip of his water at these words.

"What is it?" I ask.

"Oh nothing, nothing... I just find it funny that you didn't call me, a person that you have actually spent the night with several times before, but you instead called a boy who's house you've only been to once. I don't know man, that just seems kind of gay."

"Clint! I had just broken up with a girl I really liked. I did not, nor will I ever, shack up with Steve Rogers," I tell him slowly, trying to get the idea through his thick head.

"Wait, wait. So you and Meredith are totally over?" Bruce, who is sitting across from me next to Clint, asks.

"Yeah, when I got to Steve's house I called her and we had like a two hour long talk about us. It's definitely over. Besides, I think my dad would kill me if we kept dating."

"Awe man, and here I thought I was a great matchmaker," Bruce states sadly.

"It's not your fault my Dad is a cunt," I say, reassuringly.

"Bruce, you're focusing on the wrong part of the story here. Tony spent the night at his future husband's house. So, what'd you do with your boy toy, Stark? I'm assuming there wasn't much sleeping that night?" Clint abruptly asks while chiming in.

"Actually, no-"

Clint snorts, "I KNEW IT!"

"Oh, would you shut the hell up? Then I'll tell you what really happened."

Clint's expression softens, "Fine then, carry on."

"After I talked to Meredith on the phone for so long, I was pretty beaten up. He just kind of... Comforted me-- Jesus Clint would you stop giggling-- Anyway, he just made me feel so much better. Almost as though nothing had really happened," I state, shrugging a bit at the end.

"Okay. I mean that's really gay, but okay," Clint says, taking a bite of his pizza.

"Clint would you-"

"Actually Tony, he's right in a sense," Bruce says while raising a finger.

I sigh, "And how is that, Bruce?"

"Well, considering you had only just broken up with a girl you really liked, and I could see it in your eyes, you really did like her, it's a bit strange to carry on as though nothing occurred only minutes later. But it's a lot less strange to have that sort of behavior if you are with someone you truly enjoy during that time. Not to mention, you seem incredibly happy as we are talking about him now. I have to agree with Clint on this one, you have a little crush. Psychologically speaking, anyway."

I slam my face into my hand.

"I need dumber friends," I grumble.

"You can't deny it now, Bruce just turned that shit into a science," Clint says with a smug smile.

I look up at them, "Why do I even try anymore with you two?"

"No idea," Bruce says while eyeing the food on his lunch tray.

"Hey, Tony!" I hear a strong voice that makes me jump say.

"Hello Steve," I reply to the boy standing above me.

Just like him, always at the right place at the right time.

"Tony you left your jacket at my house, see me after school. I have it in my truck," he states with that million dollar smile on his face.

"Will do, Steve. Thanks."

"No problem. And if you don't want to go back to your house, you can crash at my place again. It was great having you over."

"Thanks man, we'll see how I feel," I tell him, a smile demanding to show on my lips.

"Alright Tony, I'll talk to you later." And just like that, he's back off to his popular table.

"I don't want to hear a word from either of you," I say, pointing at Clint and Bruce.

"Oh you know that's not going to happen," Bruce replies, chuckling.

"So, Tony, when did you start lending your jacket to your super cute boyfriend?" Clint asks in a taunting manner.

"Barton," I growl out.

"Alright, I'll leave you alone. You've had a bad couple of days. And now I can be honest with you, Meredith's a slut," Clint says in much too casual manner.

"Clint!" I yell.

"What? I'm not shaming her or anything, but I saw her making out with the president of the chess club this morning."

I frown, "Really?"

"Yup."

"But, but... We literally just broke up last night. You don't think she was cheating on me this whole time?"

Clint all of a sudden looks very sympathetic, "Hey, who cares? She's in the past now."

"Clint I didn't want to break up with her."

I put my face in my hands in disappointment.

"Tony, bro, it'll be okay," Bruce assures me.

"I bet she didn't even like me that whole time. She was probably just using me so she could have a few free meals," I say glumly.

"Tony, it's over now. You'll be fine," Clint tells me, reaching across the table to pat me on the back.

I raise my head and smack his hand away.

"Oh, shove it up your ass. You don't know what it feels like."

I stand up and leave the table, not even to wait for a reaction.

How could she do this to me? And how could I be such a moron to not realize that that was a totally toxic relationship? After all that time I spent on her, she makes out with some geek in the chess club. I'm such an idiot!

I don't realize it, but I am walking straight towards Steve. Almost as if it's instinct.

Once I arrive to his table, I tap on his shoulder. He turns to me with that heart warming smile of his.

"Yeah Tony?"

"I'm spending tonight at your house, so I'm riding home with you."

His smirk grows a little larger, "It's a date."
