(6) Chunin exams already?!

Kimiko POV

I have been called to our training ground by Naomi-sensei for something 'important' it's been about two weeks since my little break down in front of Itachi, and I haven't seen him since...... Well...... I'm avoiding him... "Your finally here kimi-chan!!" I look up to see Hiroyuki with a smile on his face. "Yes, sorry I'm late but I saw a black cat cross the road so I had to go another way." I stated bluntly. "Liar!" He yelled pointing a finger at me. "Has anyone ever taught you it's rude to point?" I asked him. "Has anyone told you it's rude to lie?!" He screamed. I ignored him. "Ok since every one is here I'll start off." Naomi cut off Hiroyuki while he was ranting about manners. She pulled out papers from her ninja pouch and handed one to each of us. "As I'm sure you all know, the chunin exams are coming around again, and I believe that this team is ready for it." Daichi looked at the paper with determination and interest in his eye. Hiroyuki grinned and laughed smugly making him think he was awesome while he looked like an idiot. I looked at the sheet with boredom. "Tomorrow I want you guys to go to the gates of the village at 5:00 am." Hiroyuki's smile dropped. "Why so early?!?" He whined. "Well because the chunin exams are being held in the sand village and it'll take us about three days to get there and the exams will start on Monday." We nod. "Also I want you all to pack for about a month and a half. Dismissed." She proofed away. "So are you guys excited?!?!" Hiroyuki bounced up and down. "I just want to become an ANBU but first I have to become a chunin..." Daichi replied. "I want to catch up and become stronger then Itachi." I answered. Hiroyuki looked at me confused. "You mean the kid you always hide from when he walks by?" I blushed and looked away. "I don't hide!" "Yes you do." Daichi bluntly answered. I pouted and looked away. "Awwww Daichi!! You made the special little snowflake sad!" I glared at Hiroyuki. "Why do you call me that?!" He smirked and made a motion as if we was tilting glasses which he doesn't wear. "Well you are special, and your younger. But I call you a snowflake because your so cold to us! But you so pretty!!!!!" I didn't know wether to be annoyed or happy he complimented me. "Hn." "Nooooo!!!! I didn't mean to annoy you Kimiko! Forgive me!!!!" He bows towards me like I was god. Daichi sweatdrops at his little performance. "Come on guys we need to start packing." I nodded and started heading into the direction of the compound.

-time skip next day 4:50-

It's 4:50 am. I'm on my way to Naruto to explain that I will be gone for awhile but that I will be back. I opened his door to hear loud snoring coming from the bedroom. I walk towards to room and open the door to see him sprawled all over his bed. I giggle at how cute he looked. I shook him gently trying to wake him up, but he didn't even stop snoring. I whispered in his ear, again it didn't work. I got annoyed so I yelled. "NARUTO WAKE UP!" I screamed. He shot out of his bed hugging his pillow. "GAH!!!!!" He looked around squinting. He spotted me and stopped. "Oh hey snowflake." I got a tick mark on my head and whacked him. "Ow!!!!! I'm sorry nee-chan!!!" I hmped and looked away. I calmed down a bit and started. "Hey Naruto.... I'm gonna be gone for a little while..." Naruto froze and snapped his head towards me. "WHAT?!?! Why?!?!" He asked afraid. I hugged him and he cried in my arms. I stroked his spiky hair until he calmed down. "W-what..?" He mumbled. I looked into his puffy eyes and frowned. "I'm going to take an exam in another village." His eyes widened. "Why can't you take it here?!" I smiled at his behavior. "Because the have hundreds of shinobi from different villages come to one to do this exam." What's so special about it?!" "Well if you pass you will become a higher ranking ninja." "Hmmm..... How long will you be gone..?" I looked away. "About a month..." "NO! YOU CANT LEAVE!!!! THEY'LL HURT ME!!!" This was true. Whenever Naruto was not around me the villagers took that as a chance to hurt him, but every time I reported it to the hokage we could never find out who it was that did it. "Naruto. I need you to listen. Since I'm starting my shinobi career I won't have as much time for you as I used to. I will have duties. But if anything big happens I need you to either walk away or tell the hokage got it?" He looked at me with his glossy orbs. He nodded slowly and I hugged him. He hugged me back tightly while digging his face into my shoulder. After a minute I pulled away and kissed him on the forehead. "Now be good future hokage. I'll be back as soon as possible." I pulled away and walked towards the door. "Good bye Kimiko-nee!!!" He yelled. I giggled and smiled. "I'll see ya later Naruto." I waved off at him and ran towards the gates which luckily wasn't far away. When I got there I spotted my team. "Ok now that we are all here we can start come on." Naomi ordered as she started dashing through the trees. We followed suit in her steps. "Yeah! Suna here we come!" Hiroyuki screamed. "Please don't tell me you will yell like that the whole time." Daichi sighed. He is acting even colder today... He must not be a morning person. "Now now, you guys won't be able to even pass if you have bad teamwork." Naomi said while focusing on where we are going. "Naomi sensei, if we continue at this speed for the rest of the time only taking about 5-10 minute breaks when will we get there?" Naomi looked back at me for a second then back in front of her. "Well if you really want to push it like that we will get there in about two days." I nod and look at the boys. "We are making it in two days." "EHHH?!" They screamed in unison.

We ended up making it here in two days as I hoped, but the second we got there Hiroyuki collapsed on the sand and me and Daichi were panting. It was 10:00 pm so we decided that we would look around the village tomorrow and just get some sleep. We walked to the hotel we reserved rooms from. "Uh yes we are under Funaki, Naomi." Naomi asked the employee behind the counter. It was a girl with platinum blond hair, pale skin, and a perfect body. But she seems to be a rude person at heart. "Hn, here you go 4 rooms." She answer carelessly giving us the keys to each room. "What floor and rooms?" Naomi asked. "Ugh! Room 367,368,369, and 370! On floor three!" She snapped. Naomi halted and glared at her and the women soon had a face full of fear. We all walked to the stairs and started going to the third floor. "Ok each of you have your own room with a bed, TV, closet, and bathroom. You should all be good for the next month." We nodded. she gave us each a key. Room 369.... Ok sure. We got to the third floor and we parted ways to our rooms.

I opened my door and locked it behind me. Ugh... I'm so sticky from sweat.... I take off my gear and go to the bathroom. After taking a shower I got dressed again but I'm not tired so I decide to look around the village while its cooler and no one is around. I pulled the window up and jumped out of it. Hmm.... Where to go..? I started to walk around a residential area. "Go away you monster!" Huh what was that? "I-I came to give you some medicine for the wound..." I hear a small voice reply. "No! You probably poisoned it!" "I woul-" "JUST GO AWAY!" I look over to see a little boy with red hair holding onto a teddy bear. He started to tear up and start running. I look over to see the door slamming. 'Hmmm the boy... He reminds me of Naruto.... Maybe I should help him...' I start to sprint after him, much to my annoyance that I'm running again after the past two days. He notices me following him and stops in what seems is a park. "Why?! WHY ARE YOU FOLLOWING ME?!" He screams. I look at him with sadness. "I'm here to help." "HELP?! WHAT TRY TO HIT ME?! GUESS WHAT THE SAND STOPS ALL MY PAIN OTHER THEN THE ONE IN Here...." He got quieter as he groped onto his chest where his heart is. He has been through so much..... "I want to be your friend." I blurted out without thinking. His angry expression turned into one full of shock. "What..? F-friend...?" He mumbled as if the word friend was foreign. I nodded slowly. And took out my hand for him to shake. "Hello my name is Kimiko Uchiha. What is yours?" He looked at my hand in confusion. "Why are you being so nice..?" I snorted a little at myself. Why am I doing this..? "Well you remind of my brother...... I don't know what it is but both of you guys have something in common." I explained. He looked at me. "You promise you won't do anything? Or I'll get my sand to protect me!" He asked with a small threat at the end. "Yes I promise not to hurt you. Now what's your name?" He looked to be in thought but shrugged thinking giving me his name won't change anything. "My name is Gaara, subaku no Gaara." He stated bringing his hand out slowly. He only put his hand out so we would be about five inches away. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you Gaara!" I smiled a little. I noticed after we shook hands he was gasping like a fish. "How?? Wha-?? Why didn't the sand stop you???!" I looked at him. "Sand?" He looked down. "Yes for some reason the sand of the village protects me from anything, but it happens automatically without my consent." I moved my hand to his head. I saw him finch as if I was going to hit him. I put my hand on his head a tussled his hair. He looked up at me with curious eyes. "That's pretty cool! I mean, that means no one can get to you and it will make you an incredible shinobi!" He grinned. "Thank you!" "No problem."
