THE PLANE JOURNEY is horrendous. I can’t sleep. I’m so tired. I don’t feel at all bright and cheery. Mum tells me to sleep, even though I just told her that I can’t. I know I don’t like beds but at least let me lie down!

Next to me is Jasper. He’s got his headphones on and he’s watching a cartoon with his PSP on his lap. He’s spent most of the journey ignoring me. It’s beginning to get on my nerves. A girl can only take so much ignorance. Mum is on my other side. Suddenly I feel a little crowded. I ask Dad if I can swap. He’s got the aisle. He says sure. We swap and he gets straight back to his newspaper. Mum is talking to her friends via her Blueberry.

I stare at my own iPhone and wonder why I need it. Stephanie was right. I have no friends. Why on earth do I need a phone for?

Anyway, I’m too tired to think. I think I’m starting to drift off.
