Chapter 3

I'm so sorry I didn't update in like...forever! Here is your chapter 3! Enjoy bo-chan.

Volleyball....

"Yo, were you listening to me?" I got back to reality and saw my older brother.

"Y-Yeah...." He sighed and flicked my forehead. 

"You still suck at lying." I flinched and looked down. 

"Y-You don't smile as much anymore..." He looked at me, then back towards the road home. 

"W-Well...people change, Ayano!" He looked down blushing. For a second there, I thought he was cute. 

I laughed and sighed. 

"O-Onii-chan..." he looked at me.

"I-I....I'm going to quit running." His eyes widened. 

"W-WHAT?!" We stopped walking and stared at each other. 

"I want to quit running. I-I don't really..feel the same about running anymore...it's not fun.." His eyes still wide, I looked down and continued.

"S-So...I wondered, what else would be more fun than running, of course I still love to run so I wanted to join a club that involves running...and stuff..." His shocked face turned into a questioned face.

"So I tried looking at baseball!...But then...they said girls can't join. I then went to basketball, but it wasn't really my thing...but then...today..I noticed. Volleyball. Everybody looked like they were having so much fun...I saw you...a-and I got kind of jealous..." I said the last part quiet enough for him not to hear me. I don't want him to be mixed in to my problems. 

"A-Ayano...?" I held in my tears. 

"Soo...I want to join volleyball! I want to join the girls volleyball team next year when I get into high school." I smiled and he sighed. 

"But you worked so hard running! Why would you just quit like that?"

"Because I'm not having any fun." I huffed and he sighed. Again. 

"Fine. Do whatever." I laughed and we both raced each other home. 

That night...was a stormy night....

Lightning flashed. Rain. Pouring rain. 

I got scared. I tried everything to keep myself from crying. Everything is so loud. I can't sleep. Onii-chan! Help me! 

I ran out of my room, hoping mom won't wake up because of me, entering by brothers room and jumping onto his bed, crushing him which made him jolt and wake up. 

"OI! WHAT DO YOU THI-" He looked at me crying. 

"A-Ayano...what's wrong?" He saw my crying figure and figured everything out. This wasn't the first time this happened. I was surprised my mom didn't wake up at my brothers huge yell. I just let it slip away.

He sighed and played back down, wrapping his arms around me, bringing me closer to his chest. 

"It's okay. Nothing can hurt you now. Go to sleep. I'll protect you. Always." He kissed my forehead and I stopped crying. His body is warm. 

He covered me with his blanket, and I calmed down. I smiled. So this is how he smells. Everything was so soothing to me...

I was able to ignore everything and go to sleep right after.
