Courtney drove to her apartment in shock and on the verge of a panic attack. She didn't want to lie to Scott, but she didn't exactly want to confess to him, either.

And the case she was faced with boggled her. How was she supposed to know that having sex during a prison visit was against the rules? It's not like they told her that! She definitely needed to get in touch with a trustworthy lawyer. Someone who could help her out without ruining her relationship with Scott. This definitely excluded everyone at her law firm. Due to his lack of manners and general obliviousness, everyone there hated Scott and would most likely be glad to see him and Courtney break-up. Everyone insisted she should move on and could do better. Maybe they were right, but Duncan definitely wasn't the upgrade they had in mind as they told her this about Scott. Dating Duncan again would just worsen her reputation. I mean, c'mon, he's-

Wait a minute, dating Duncan? What was she thinking?! She's dating Scott, and she'd never get back together with Duncan! This prison hookup was equivalent to a one night stand. There would be no more kissing between her and Duncan. No matter how good it felt, how hot he was...ugh! Enough!

Then there's the charge of deceiving public officials. Yes, she told them Duncan was her ex-boyfriend, but why did that relationship status even matter? He's in prison! Any girl with common sense would steer clear of him. Any girl, except for her.

The sexual misconduct charge was definitely the more serious of the two. She had Scott to testify she's not dating Duncan and didn't lie while setting up the meeting, but who would say her and Duncan didn't have sex? Bernard saw Duncan fucking her with his own two eyes! And anyone outside the room could have heard her screaming.

Courtney pushes all thoughts of the lawsuit out of her head. She runs inside her apartment, shut and locked the door, and dove headfirst onto her dusty brown leather couch. She scrolled through emails on her PDA, listened to her "sad" playlist, and ate lactose-free ice cream. Courtney remembered the time Chris nearly made her eat ice cream contaminated with bird droppings on Total Drama All-Stars. Remembering this, she disposed of the ice cream while gagging.

"Stupid Chris," she muttered, remembering how rude Chris was and how desperate she was to win. Courtney acknowledged that she was passionate and had a knack for succeeding and getting what she desired; it was a trait that made her a fierce competitor and successful woman. But it was feeling passionate about a certain someone that she wasn't dating that was causing her big trouble.

Courtney messages Scott on her PDA.

We need to converse. Something has...happened.

Courtney lazily waited around, knowing that Scott would be afraid of the alerting buzz that comes with the text. Scott never did get used to the upgraded technology Courtney helped him get. Shopping for a new phone with Scott was so excruciating, Courtney couldn't imagine going through that again just to get him a phone that better suited him. As a response to getting a text, he might even hide behind his ragged old couch while swiping at the air and yelling:
"What was that?!"

That stupid farm boy, Courtney thought, grinning. Sure, the thought of him being that technologically inept kind of bothered her, but at the same time, it was kind of endearing. He was willing to tackle a whole new world just to stay in touch with her. There was no need for phones and the like at his pappy's farm, after all. It was just for her. Thinking about this made her feel worse. Scott gave up his farm life for her, got a phone for her, moved to a new place for her. How could she just choose to cheat on him like that? Was she just like Duncan after all?

She checked her PDA and saw a newly received message pop up.

I'll come on over but what does converse mean? Sounds confusing.

Courtney burst out into laughter, but it eventually became a series of giggles.

Never mind, just get here soon.

Courtney sent the text with a smile, but her facial expression became grim when she remembered the reason she needed Scott over in the first place. She waited around for twenty minutes and then heard a knock on her door.

Courtney scurried to the door and peeped out of the hole to see who it was. She smiled when she saw Scott standing there.

"Who is iiiitttt?" Courtney asked loudly.

"It's you...ah, your girlfriend, Scott. Um. It's Scott," he managed to get out.

"Hm, I didn't ask any kind of 'girlfriend' to come over," Courtney smirked, still peeping through the hole.

Scott frowned, clearly puzzled.

"Oh. I'll just g-"

Before Scott could finish, the door flew open, and Courtney embraced him in a hug. Caught by surprise, Scott stumbled backwards and fell, Courtney subsequently falling on top of him. Scott sat up, complaining and rubbing his head.

"Ow! That hurtttt."

This is kind of like how our first kiss happened. Kind of. Courtney's heart wrenched inside of her and guilt overcame her. She leaned forward and kissed his forehead.

"Better?" Courtney asked, smirking.

"No," Scott muttered.

She pressed her hands against his cheeks and gave him a quick yet warm and passionate kiss on the lips. His eyelashes fluttered with surprise.

"You feel better, and whether you really do or don't doesn't matter," Courtney said firmly.

"Yes ma'am," Scott responds dreamily.

"Good. Now come inside, there's something I need to tell y-"

Courtney was interrupted when Scott picked her up and started walking inside. He closes the door with the hand that isn't holding Courtney's back above his shoulder.

"Scott! Put me down!" She yelled, pounding her fists against his back painlessly and playfully. Scott laid her down on the couch but kept his arm around her. He flashed her a cheerful smile.

"So what do you need tell me?"
