Chapter 23

Shane:

I looked over at Cynthia as a wave of fear washed over me. It was evident that she had smelt the rogues to. She started to get out of bed and I grabbed her wrist.

"Stay here Im going to order guards to watch over you and the twins." I ordered. She shook her hand out of my grip.

"No I need to protect our children. I know what they want. Trust me." I looked in her eyes. Confidence swirled around them.  I nodded my head and watched as she stormed out of the room me close on her tail. She started to run. I was sure this wouldnt be good for her health but I couldnt exactly stop her after all she had alot more power over me. The scent of rogues got stronger as we continued along the corridors towards the exit. As we emerged outside I could see that the hospital was surrounded. I grabbed Cynthia and moved her behind my back taking a protective stance in-front of her.

A rogue walked out and addresed Cynthia "Cynthia come with us and none of them will be hurt." I growled as a warning.  Cynthia moved from behind me and kissed me on the cheek.

"What are you doing?" I asked fear gripping my voice.

Cynthia:

I looked towards Shane as tears welled up in my eyes. I felt my wolf whimper. She knew what I was about to do. I embraced Shane.

"I love you. Find me Shane. Promise me you will end this. For our children and for our pack." He whimpered as a sob came out of me before I pulled away and walked towards the Rogue.

I walked, my head held high above my head. My confidence rolling off me. "Come on." The rogue uttered impatiently. I steadied my pace going slower trying to infuriate the rogue in-front of me. He stormed towards me and grabbed my wrist.

I heard a growl behind me.  I turned towards him and glared at him. He immediately shut his mouth.  I turned back towards the rogue who had tightened his grip on my wrist causing me to wince as his claws extended and pierced the skin. I blocked Shane out of my mind as I felt a wave of pain. He couldn't know I was in pain. I needed him to stay clam. For the packs sake.

I tried to rip my hand out of his grip but I felt depleted of energy.

"Not feeling well little wolfie?" He asked a smirk gracing his lips. I snarled at him as he gripped my wrist tighter. I looked down at the wound and notice there was glistening. He has done something to me.

"This isnt the first time I have dealt with your kind little wolf. I dealt with your mother before." At that I went to punch him in his smirking face but he kneed me in my stomach.  The pain spread across my body as I collapsed on to the ground.

Shane let out another growl. I silently pleaded him not to do anything when I felt a sharp pain in my hand. A haziness washed over me as the world spun. I was having trouble keeping my eyes open. My energy depleted my eyes closed and I was left in darkness.

Shane:

I watched as she collapsed to the ground visibly pained. I growled out a warning. The rogue took no notice and jabbed a needle into Cynthias hand. I could see her eyes rolling to the back of her forehead. Then all of a sudden her eyes closed and her breathing slowed.

"What the hell have you done ?" I shouted. The rogue laughed with his men then all of a sudden a thick cloud of smoke surrounded them. The rogue waved at me as they disappeared into thin air. 

"NO." I screamed as I fell to the floor with my head in my hands.  "No" I whispered to myself again. How could I let this happen? How. What have I done?

I mind linked the pack and told them to meet me outside. They turned up almost immediatly. I was still knelt down tears freely flowing down my red cheeks.

Daisy and Jacob walked over to me and helped me up. My legs felt weak and I was light headed. I tried to stand up tall but pain was etching its way around my body. I knew it was Cynthia. I howled out in pain and then it stopped. Adrenaline was rushed around my body as my heart rate quickened. They finally stopped hurting her. Daisy turned me to face her. I couldnt hold it in as I cried all over again. I sobbed into her shoulder not bothering that I was in-front of my pack members.  The tears that once flowed down my cheeks came to a halt and the sadness that had seeped its way into my heart was turned into anger. 

The inferno built inside of me. My wolf wanted blood. He wanted to find them and kill them. I turned away from Daisy and addressed the pack.

"Everyone My mate and your Luna has just given herself up for us. To protect us. Who will join me and help me find her.  To kill the ones who stole your Luna away from you." 

Cheers went up all around filling my heart with pride that my pack would risk their lives for her but the inferno inside of me was still blazing and it wasn't going to stop until I found her. My mate!

AHHHH. I know you are all gonna hate me for this but come on tell me its a good story line. I wont be able to upload as much I'm back at school now but will try to update as much as possible. I do love this book and I was thinking of starting a new book after this about a vampire who had fallen in-love with a werewolf. What do you think??
