Leaving the waiting room didn't take that long until we were in the room where Dan was. His face was all bandaged and his arms were covered in bruises. He was laying on his side since he had sutures all over his back. I couldn't believe that my best friend looked like this. I couldn't handle it at all.

It was like this for three days.

As I looked beside me, Y/N had a hand over her mouth, taking in Dan's condition. Constant tears fell from her face and I constantly thought about how she was feeling. She could have lost her boyfriend.

And I could have lost my best friend.

The figure on the bed stirred as he started to wake up. The doctors explained that he's been seriously injured. Resulting in serious heart palpitations. His size not helping with the low blood pressure he had them having had to stabilise him three times since then.

My phone was constantly buzzing in my pocket earlier so I decided to turn it on and see what was up.

Many more mentions were included in the constant feed of notifications blowing up my phone. Making me it extremely difficult to read every single comment.

"Oh my god!" Was all I heard from Y/N before she rushed beside Dan's bed him smiling slightly up at Y/N. Taking in the features of her, the way she looks and he seemed so relieved to see her.

"What about Mallie?" Dan's voice croaked hoarsely, sitting up slightly in a panic.

I looked to the doctor beside us and she told us that they were fine and they were sent home already.

Dan's shoulders instantly slacked. Settling down a bit into Y/N's shoulder as she wrapped her arms around him. Embracing him tightly.

"He can go home when he feels ready to, he's stable and will need some care at home which I'm sure you can provide. And doctor visits once a week." The doctor smiles as she left, leaving us to all embrace and I instantly feel better than I ever had in a long time.

Two hours later we checked out, and Dan desperately wanted a hamburger. As we walked him down the street, him having an arm protectively around Y/N and she seemed a lot better than she did a few days ago. People found out about the hospital we were at from the fan I met there at the hospital.

The only difference I've noticed about Dan is that he keeps picking up small details and patterns of the people that are in the hospital. Even creepy enough down to the bathroom schedules.

Yes I know he didn't have anything to do as he lay in the bed. But seriously dude. Wow.

Y/N told me about Mary's death and I was sad as hell. Dan too. We are planning on going to the funeral together since Herb is a very close friend to us three. Closer to Y/N than any of us.

This experience of Dan being in this accident has also changed Y/N. She doesn't seem as young as she did a week ago.

She acts older, wiser and less attached than most other people do. Dan was planning on doing a younow later tonight but I highly doubted he would be since right now his whole weight is basically on Y/N and myself.

"I need a rest." I heard Dan breathlessly exhale as he sat down on the closest bench. Wincing as his back slightly touched the back of the bench. The material scratching against his sutures.

"Dan, we can call a cab." Y/N offered as she set a hand on his shoulder. Him pushing it off slightly.

"No I don't need a cab. I'm fine." He snapped, pushing himself up quickly and started limping down the street slightly.

I looked at Y/N and pouted my lip which she just rolled her eyes and took after Dan.

"Why does everyone not wanna hang with me right now." I mumbled to myself as I shoved my hands in my pockets and felt some rain droplets hit my head from the continuous storm that always went through England.
