It had been another three weeks and my dad still hadn't found me. And honestly, I was relieved. A few months living with the werewolves and I was slowly starting to feel like part of the pack, even if I was still human. Finn had become one of my closest friends, along with Melissa, both of them helping me mesh with everyone else. Lucas was still being weird around me though, to the point where he wouldn't be left alone in a room with me. He spent a lot of time out of the house, and when I asked Will about it, he would just tell me he had some stuff he needed to work through.
Kelly still didn't like me either; she considered me a major threat to her family's safety and she wasn't wrong. I had put everyone at risk when I'd phoned my dad, but it didn't matter now. I'd accepted he wasn't coming. And I'd come to terms with the fact I was never going to see my family again.
I was sitting in the lounge with Will, my legs on his lap whilst I watched the TV. I could feel him watching me, just looking at my face and he'd been doing it a lot over the past couple of days. Gradually I had become completely comfortable around him and told him pretty much everything about me. I'd filled him in on the embarrassing high school years; braces and pigtails were not a good look on me. I had told him how hard it was constantly moving across the country and never being settled anywhere too long, never having friends for more than a year before being carted off to the next state. Will had told me about his life as a werewolf and the trials of being raised as the future alpha.
He hadn't mentioned anything about turning me yet and I was grateful. Even though I had come to terms with the fact I wasn't going back to my old life, I still wanted to hold on to something from before, and if that was going to be my humanity then so be it.
Will was still looking at me, and now it was getting on my nerves, so I turned and looked at him.
"What?" I asked, raising my eyebrows at him in.
"You are seriously beautiful, you know that right?" he replied. I cringed extremely hard.
"That is the cringiest thing I have ever heard Will." I laughed.
Suddenly Will had a hold of my thighs and was pulling me onto his lap. He tucked my hair behind my ears, smiling at me.
"Are you happy?" he asked, rubbing my legs with his hands.
"Will, I..." I said, trying to think of what to say.
"I just want you to be happy, Layla" he said, looking at me. He pulled my face closer to his and my breath caught in my throat. I could feel the sparks flying through me as Will brought his hands up my arms. My whole body was tingling, Will's hands were now cupping my face and his thumb brushed along my bottom lip. I placed my hand on his wrist, before leaning closer to his face. Then Will gently pulled my lips onto his, closing the gap between us. The kiss was soft, Will being extremely gentle as he moved his lips on mine. It was very vulnerable, almost innocent and made every nerve end in my body feel like it was on fire.
Will pulled away from the kiss, our foreheads still together as we both tried to regulate our breathing again. Even with the kiss being innocent, there was still a huge amount of passion behind it. I opened my eyes to Will's warm blue ones and laughed a little. Will smiled, his hands still around my face.
"I'm getting there Will." I said.
"Getting there?" he grinned.
"With me being happy. I'm getting there." I repeated, running my fingers through his hair.

I was sitting in Will's office on the floor, flicking through one of the books from a shelf above me. It was all about werewolf mythology and was actually really interesting, but there were so many words and they had all started blurring together; I must have been reading for at least 4 hours now. I shut the book and pushed it off my lap, taking a deep breath before standing up. I went over to Will's desk, looking over all the files and papers that were spread out all over the place. I was brought out of my thoughts by Finn coming into the office and shutting the door behind him promptly.
